The whole time I watched that I was thinking of 3 things:
1 - a Mario game like this would be amazzzzzzzing
2 - my wife is going to love this game
3 - I'm thinking that this would be tons of fun with friends and
With the amount of customization that LBP is supposed to have, I highly doubt your psychic forecast will come to fruition.
Unfortunately , the problem is that the big idea of User-created content (like, making your own levels) has never ever worked and never will !!! It surely wont work for LBP too, i know..... The game might basically be a Modder's dream, as everything you need to make a LEGO themed level is right at your finger tips. That's all. Being an industry forecaster, i can easily estimate : 800 k worldwide launch , 1-1.4 million lifetime.
These figures are really disheartening to the true gamer in us. However dont worry, it's going to get many 10's across the boards, and that's just it
I could link you to a similar game released by the same company called "Rag doll kung fu " . The comparisons are stagerring and might interest you all.
And now you're an "industry forecaster"... that's nice.
I have to make presentations to developers abt current video-game trends and such. Hence i m not allowed to take all this as lightly as you guys could take it, i have to arrive at almost exact figures of certain game's sales. It's something that mixes general psychology with pie charts. THATS my job.
Now if you have any other forecasts abt the sales that this game could garner, it could be helpful. We can try comparing our figures at the end of October , to see how i reached in this position as such, and you are still there ....., right ?
I have to make presentations to developers abt current video-game trends and such.
In all seriousness, I really hope that you proof-read the presentations that you put together for these developers. If they look anything like your posts do, I'd probably take my business elsewhere.

:dropping two cents:
They are not guys who will brand me "metal gear fan-boy" just to make me shut-up or win over some threads . Hence i have no reason in there to look stupid ,aimlessly fighting with some random guys, as in here. I might be really good at predicting sales of games for them, and thats all they cares. That's why they have a big business while you keep moving yours from one post to another, gaining nothing in life but fake respect . I also know how to develop cool games, do you know that ? More reasons why. I commend you, but you are so noob abt how the real industry works, to know who counts here and who doesnt, sorry ....
care to make a prediction or a video-game like i could do ? Because other than that i have to admit that both you and i are equal.
Aside from your horrendous comprehension of the English language, you might very well be correct.
Thanks for admitting that !!!! I will take intelligence and psychology over English anyday . But doesn't it make you a lot inferior than me? Why did you have to admit that in your only playground ?
Now,the so called English language might not be my forte . But if i had only ever posted some small insignificant one-liners like you do, no one might have felt the difference ? ..
Now back to LBP, it can be said that a lot of PS3 owners will take one look at it and just dismiss it as kiddy .The creation aspect never appeals to the general audience. Most people aren't creative and just view that part of it as work. On the other hand, I'm sure more than a handful of people will at least give it a shot for the simple fact that it's not another shooter and there's really nothing like it on any system, except WII . It'll probably have decent sales and get good reviews. It could have more of a cult following rather than being the next big game everyone will be playing.
I will get this game though, since i DESPERATELY need to play it.
But doesn't it make you a lot inferior than me? Why did you have to admit that in your only playground?
Not really... it just makes me feel like I imagine you must feel, when "preaching" about your over abundant grasp of the MGS universe to other people. Or your ability to forecast for how well a video game will sell... or some of the flame posts that I have seen you direct towards other members that other moderators have had to delete... I'll stop here.
Sorry to disappoint you, but this isn't my only playground... but it is a place that I like to visit... to blog about video games. Sometimes it upsets me when I see a post (such as yours) on the site.
Again, nothing against you, but I just get upset when I see people throw around unsubstantiated statements - such as yours a few posts ago in this very thread.

The writing on the wall really was correct... you really do make no sense in some of what you post.

Refreshing to see that your "forecast" for LittleBigPlanet has done a complete 180 degree turn within the span of five days. You've officially made my day!
Now that we both agree that the game will be pretty good, this thread really needs to get back on track...
I have to check with GameStop while I'm picking up Madden 09 tonight about the extra goodies that we will be able to get for having placed a preorder down on LittleBigPlanet.

My opinion has not changed in 5 days, as you are trying to make it out to be. I guess it's your desperation to see good words about this title, which is causing you to mis-intepret whatever i wrote. I mentioned that the game would sell 1.5 million copies, and everyone knows it's just "Decent sales", or even a failure, considering the mass-hype this game is garnering. This game is not going to sell 3million + copies like GOW, ***.creed, MGS4 etc. Hence, it can only be called just an another CULT classic game, especailly if it only collects 1.5 million sales . It can easily be considered a failure, especially with the hype that sony is desperately trying to make up for this game. This hype has always been there for many PS3 Games like R&C , K &L , Haze etc, but they were nothing more than 1million sellers.
So, no need to rejoice NEGATIVE Creep . It might be a good enough game for both of us, but our opinions are not enough in this big world. We can only hope for the better that i am wrong, and this game comes out big in sales.
Does anyone else think that this is just going to be an another CULT CLASSIC , and unfortunately nothing more ? Is Hype, going to make or kill this game, since a 1.5 million does not become enough now.... ?
I heard there's a Solid Snake skin for the sackboy.

This is probably the most valid statement I've seen you give, out of all of your posts.
It's a good point, but I still think LBP will see a good amount of success on the PS3. If for no other reason, it's simply a unique game. Once people get playing it, and users start sharing DLC, I think it'll sustain its success for a good while.
That's something I gotta say I want to see a lot more of in games; User-created DLC.
I will bet a basket full of virtual cookies that LBP will be PS3's best selling game (for a decent amount of time).
I am predicting 6,000,000.
Also, the developers said they still have some brand new things to show off in the coming events, and etc. Hopefully we get to use water, but water physics would be pretty hard to run when it will be interacting with a lot of other objects.

I don't know about 6 million copies, but I agree that it will be a HUGE seller... although there are some people around here who think differently than the both of us.
Hell, I just want to see my sackboy "dressed up" like Kratos... that fact alone has me pumped for this game!

I am still sticking with 6 million.
My predictions:
PS3s sold October 2008: 900,000
'' November 2008: 1,200,000
'' December 2008: 1,500,000
LBP One month: 3,500,000
LBP by 2009, 5,500,000
Lifetime: 6,000,000
