Although this is a rather old game, does anyone own the Mega Man Anniversary Collection? It has Mega Man 1-8, the Power Battles, Power Fighters, as well as a whole bunch of extras included within the game.
Mega Man 1-6 are the original NES games, with the same great feel as the original NES version. Each game contains 8 levels if I'm not mistaken, with a boss at the end of each. After defeating the boss, you gain his ability that you can use in the other levels. Depending on the ability you gained, it can make your next fight easier (Water blaster does more damage than your regular blaster on a heat oriented boss obviously).
Mega Man 7 is taken from the SNES version, while Mega Man 8 is taken from the Playstation version. The graphics get a big overhaul at Mega Man 7, as you well as a few smaller adjustments. The basic gameply is about the same as the original NES version, with the excetion to certain points during both games.
In my opinion, the original NES Mega Man games are the best out of the series. They are extremely entertaining to play, with a high replay value to them. I never played a Mega Man game before this, and I really enjoyed every single minute of it. If you are a Mega Man fan, or you are just looking for some great old school NES games, you should definitly check this out.
If you like the original Mega Man, may I suggest Mega Man: Powered Up for the PSP. It's an enhanced version of the original and even adds two new Robot Masters. Very Cool.

Mega Man rules. I love all of them. Even Mega man legends.....
Thanks for the review, Cylon. I've been thinking about getting this collection, but I haven't seen many comments about in anywhere and none that went into this much depth.
Ahhh megaman takes me back. It was one of capcom's strongest games next to street fighter and all. Are they deciding to make a new one? When megaman got all 3d it was a really big turn off. I hope they make one for the PS3! Cheers!
honestly my fav of the series were 7,8 and megaman legends.even though the 3d had a bad camer angle, the story, engine, and upgrade system kept me hooked. i cant say anything for the tron bonne game since i never played that.
when i think about it, its time for a new megaman game, not this crap they keep putting out called the X series.I admit though the zero series on ds is great, but its bland and doesnt have as much character as the megaman series.

this went through perfectly! didn't think it would happen.
When I was up at Gamestop yesterday, I saw a Megaman X collection containing ALL of the 2D Megaman X games for only 20 dollars. I was tempted to buy it.
Well I do have the Megaman X Collection, and I must say that the older version of the game the harder it is to beat.lol
I was always a huge fan of Megaman X4 and X5,and yes the Megaman Legends 1-2 series aswell.I hoped that there would be a MegaMan Legends 3 but my wish never came true.
The older games seemed to have more (?) in them when playing and beating them a few times, but after going back and playing them again, they are kinda boring.I know how great they are but the magic is gone.
I even got a copy of Rockman Dash 2 (Megaman Legends 2 in japanese) for the PSP (sorry I know ps2 n ps3 only!)
