not a fighting games fan, the only one ive played around a bit with is tekken. my friends complain that its way too slow (the action) and i agree. they prefer soul calibur. I really like dragon ball z for its ultra fast play but i suck at it.
I think it would kinda depend. If you want a realistic feeling, then I would say Fight Night. But, Soul Caliber is a great game. I enjoyed the series. Mortal Kombat is another great series. I used to own it for the Playstation 2 and loved it. Very great game to play, and lots of unlockables(NotSureAboutTheNewOne)
Soul Caliber is the perfect game for playing with large groups of people or at parties because it might be the first time playing for a lot of people and Soul Caliber's easy and basic fighting design makes it a little more evened out.
When you're playing people who know what they're doing, I enjoy Tekken Tag and Tekken 5 a whole lot more. Requires more skill, timing, memory, and some more skill to properly play and master this game. It's just an awesome game but bringing this back to what I said in the first paragraph, it's too complex for rookies.
I'd have to say Tekken 3. It has a wide variety of characters, nice amount of unlockables, and my now-favourite character, Eddy Gordo. Now he's what you call a button masher.
Tekken is good.
Mortal Kombat hasn't had the same quality ever since it went 3D IMO.
It's still good it's just not as good. Shaolin was a step in the right direction.
Garou is one of my all-time favourites.
Guilty Gear series is fun.
But I'm pretty much a classic SNK and Capcom player. I like my SF and KOF.
Street Fighter III Third Strike is IMO the perfect fighter.
I can tell I won't be popular here.
Since ive almost played every good fighting game on the ps2 that there is left to play i fill should let you know whats up about them all
first my fav is guilty gear X2 its kinda underground not many now about it but those that do. dont v.s. them at it becuse most includin me are pros at it. really fast pase game and complex makin of combo to chose from. mainly for the hardcore gamers kinda game.
Next which ive played to much is soulcalibur 3 if you get a ps2 game get this one. so much content so much to keep you busy. fighting mechanics are smooths it gives the game skill and tactics to defeat your opponet with graphic just complment the game.
now comes tekken 5 or tag same thing differnt little things other then that this game is goes toward the button combo memorizin and endurance skills you got to have to play this game. the graphics arent the best but if you get past that it a pretty good game. i find it to be more of a hardcore gamer game.
i game that for some reason im reallly good at but i dont like that much is virtua fighter. every game i play i study the mechanics it will help you at games if you understand the the mechanics and this one is all about fill. if you ever played the game you might understand but if not its all good ppl got there ways. if your looking for a tactical game this is your game.
time for the mortal kombats most of the mortal kombat are simple easy to pick up and play. but some are fun and hard like shalion monks ill be honest beat this game the day i got never played it again. but that day the game was fun just to short i wanted more. what shailon monks did is what no other has done make a fighting game thats 3d but then they made it also a platformer to which only helped it. didnt really like none of mortal kombats but decption becuse of the fighting mechanic with more styles to chose from helps give it more tactical fill. and also puzzle master soild puzzle game its like gettin 2 game for 1.
hope i not sound like a dude that knowes everthing becuse dont i just know alot jp you cant tell by my spellin becuse its not good workin on it.
The Tekken series is stunning. It's good for beginners to get into, but there's so much depth for vets to sink their teeth into. I loved 1-3, but I thought things got a bit samey and boring with 4 and 5. I've recently got back into the series in a big way with DR Online on PS3. It's great being able to play people around the world, and it really refreshes things somewhat. It can be irritating at times because there's always those irritating players who constantly spam the same old moves to win at the expense of fun, but on the whole it's a blast. Can't wait for Tekken 6.
