Lol. Thats how I kinda had to stop, computer classes also got me in the habit of typing out real words. I sometimes use u and r while texting though, but really not that often.

The 'Fair Use' policy applies to most things over here now. Most Internet companies give you a choice of limited bandwidth per month, or unlimited bandwidth but 'Fair Use' still applies. It basically says that if you are using a service so much that it begin to affect someone else's service, you will get penalised for it. They can limit your Internet to a few hours a day, etc.
Honestly, I think the 'Fair Use' policy is a great thing. Why should I get a ****** service because some kid around the corner is trying to run the MI5 mainframe on the same line?

It's good until you get stung by it. The main problem I have with them is that they aren't clear. It's either an arbitrary amount (which does not equal unlimited), or a random one if you're in the top 3% of users or something. All I'd ask is that if there is an arbitrary amount, it be made clear and not advertised as unlimited, and if there isn't, to make that clear also, and warn me if I happen to be near it.
Saying that, that's the only time I've ever been hit by such a policy, so I'm not really that bothered. But I still think they are at best too vague and at worst false advertising.

Well if they told you the point you could go up to before getting slammed, it would be a limited plan.
Not telling you the number but using the 'Fair Use Policy' is their excuse to say, "there is a limit, but we call it unlimited because it sells better."

I don't know how I missed this post before, but holy hell! Almost 50,000 text messages in one month, that is just plain ridiculous.
Do you eat? sleep? anything other than text, lol.
The most I have sent/received in in a month was a little over 6,000. By the end of that month my thumbs were sore.

Well, I have a blackberry and it has a full qwerty keyboard

I have the enV which also have a full qwerty keyboard. I could still never see myself handling 50,000 text messages. I bet your thumbs are little typing beasts :-P.

A similar situation happened to someone I used to work with. He had unlimited texting in his plan and texted every second of the day. When his bill came, he was charged for a large amount of the text messages he sent/received because apparently even unlimited had a cap which he failed to read in the plan.

I can honestly say, I have probably never in my life sent even close to 500 text messages.
I had a plan which gives me 200 minutes and 200 texts per month. Last month I used 13 minutes and 3 texts. The reason for this is I see most of my friends at least every other day, and if I don't see them in person I most likely see them on MSN/AIM or can e-mail them if I need to.

I've always tried to post or text people in the correct way. I really think it makes you look stupid when you write like that. I was probably the only person back on AIM out of all of my friends who actually typed out all of my words. Man, that was a long time ago. I haven't used AIM since 2003.
I used to have a cell phone that could send and recieve text messages, but I never really liked using it.

Uhhhhhh..... that's... hold on. Math time, brb.
Edit -
This one I don't believe. I know for a fact that no person is going to send 1600 texts a day, or 1 point something texts every minute... all day long. I'll have to call ******** on that.
