Basically what do you guys out there consider to be the most dangerous sport around. Now Im sure theres some super uknown sport out there where half the people who do it die and blah blah blah, in that case just hit other and tell us about it. Now Im not including sports like football or hockey or really another type of team sport, because in reality there pretty damn safe compared to unconventional sports. You will never convince me that a sport like football which takes place in a controlled enviroment, is overall more dangerous then something like base jumping.
Personally I see Heli-skiing as one of the most dangerous sports out there. If you didn't know Heli-skiing is where you are skiing or snowboarding a run/mountain thats only accessible by helicopter. You are basically traveling down uncharted runs where the uknown can strike at anytime. Dealing with deep snow and ice, hard rock, and avalanches not to mention the extreme difficulty of these runs puts it at the top of my list. Heres a little clip from the movie First Descent of a guy named Terje Hakkonsen trying out a new run for the first time. You will have a hard time convincing me that theres more then a handful of people in the world that can pull that off.
Hard to decide. Each sport has it's own unique risks and conditions. And no athlete that excels at any given sport is the same physically and mentally. To each and every one that puts their *** on the line for the thrill & rush, I'll always respect.
One wrong move and you're done. Not to mention the potential for all those falling ice sheets.

BASE jumping is the most idiotic (and least cool) on that list so thats what I voted for. Some of those sports I have no familiarity with and some of them are reasonably safe when you have a decent technique. Base jumping though, veterans go splat quite regularly.
For me, its a tough choice between BASE jumping and skydiving.
With BASE jumping, you always have the issue that your chute get tangled or doesn't fully deploy. You can also quite easily get blown back into a building or other hard place. I have seen a lot of videos of BASE jumps gone wrong, they don't look fun.
Skydiving is much the same, except you are falling thousands of feet. The height of the dive can be be good or bad. On one hand, you have more time to try and fix any problems you may have and on the other hand you have more time to think about hitting the floor if something has gone wrong.
Something goes wrong with BASE jumping and you will probably survive but have a really bad life as a cripple, at least with skydiving you will either die on impact or go unconscious before you feel any pain.
You hear about a lot more BASE jumping accidents than skydiving ones, I will choose that.

Yeah I somewhat regret putting skydiving up on the list, because now a days its a fairly familiar and safe sport. And since its very similar to base jumping yet not half as dangerous overall, it really does not deserve a spot.
I really liked it when I used to dive and Spearfish, especially on trips down to Key West for Spiny Lobster Season. I've had some close calls with Barracuda down there because I was a little tipsy and forgot to take my jewlery off, which is a big NoNo.
