I've played the online a few time. I like it, but I still don't see what's sooo amazing about it. Free roam mode is like playing the single player only with other live people. Mafyia work is retarded. Team deathmatch and deathmatch are nothing special.

The more I get into the single player it seems like the more repetitive it's getting. Same style missions as all the others before it. I kind of regret spending $60 on it, I should have just rented it.

I fail to see why everyone is giving it a 10/10.

Yeah you got to be into the mafia type game to enjoy it.

I havn't played online but I enjoy the single player because of the free roaming and such. I can agree it gets repetative but its so addicting I can't just put the game down. It sort of reminds me of the Sims games. I have a feeling this will be like all other GTA games and that as soon as I beat it I will never play it again.

You just suck at driving.

"Mag, get out of the car, let me drive."

LMFAO

The game is amazing. Game of the year, no question.

Are you serious? I'm a beast at driving, hands down. Ask BamF. I'll stomp on you.

Driving takes a lot of getting used to. I needed about 20 hours before i could call myself a pro at driving for most of the vehicles. You need to brake before you go to a turn, tap the hand brake while moving the analog stick in the direction you want to turn, and then finesse the steering and regular brakes to get it through the rest of the powerslide. Like most games nowadays, don't be afraid to put the brakes on every now and then, and be even more apt to lay off the gas.

At first, I would only have rated it around a 9-ish, then i was more like 9.5-9.8, and now i'm just saying 9.9 for final. There are just a very few amount of things holding back that perfect ten for me. for example: while the selection of music is very vast, the actual radio stations only have a very limited track length. Also, the game does freeze every once in a while, and almost every time i've tried to start the game from a cold boot i get problems. But then again, i haven't had troubles with it since i started my last play session like 18 hours ago. hasn't frozen since then, and the only reason i think it did was because of the multiplayer (was getting invites, and i quit out of a game).

Oh yeah, and i really haven't played online all that much. Maybe that can bump it to a perfect 10 for me.

Still, it is the best damn gave i've played since Metal Gear Solid in my opinion. Yes, even better than SOCOM II, and i'm hoping MGS4 retakes the top spot.

I don't understand why people (no one specifically) ***** about the driving so much.

In the other GTA games, the cars were like toys. I used to dread missions where you had to race or follow someone at speed in a car. One little tap and they would spin out or something. In IV, they seem to actually have mass and weight to them. When you crash on this one you do it with some impact, not like before when you could crash and pull straight out of it and go back to your woman-like crazy driving.

I wasn't so sure before, but now I have played online MP, this game is a solid 5 for me. Even with the random freezing and "pausing" of the screen.

Ok so I have the PS3 version and it now will not load. I put the disk in and it just goes to the load screen and never loads. Should I return the disk for a new one or is there something I need to do to fix this.

Never mind I read online that tons of people have had this problem and all you need to do is shut off the wifi and it fixes the problem and it did.

Amazing. Just freakin' amazing. In the wee hours of 5/13/2008, I murdered people, I stole cars, I robbed people, I stabbed old ladies. I've had the most fun I've had in a long, long time. I haven't felt like this since the first time I played Grand Theft Auto III. Rockstar has successfully brought back that exact same feeling that I felt the very first time I played Grand Theft Auto III. The brought it back and gave it steroids.

I've stabbed, punched, kicked, pushed, shot, squished, beat, and all around caused havoc until my stamina got the better of me. I fell asleep soundly, and slept through the entire night. Something I haven't been able to do for a long time. This game is gold in my book.

I totally agree... I think it's about damn time that they decided to utilize more realistic driving physics for the game.

But on topic, I give the game a four out of five... reasons being, the game seems to have framerate issues when bombing down the streets at extremely high speeds - and the whole freezing issue (or issues, in my case) keep it from being a perfect 5 star game.
