Most anticipated PS3 game of 2008

But it is always about personal preference. Jim may not like racing games (Motorstorm), alien games (Resistance 2), etc.

The excitement of the year will probably end for me when Socom comes out, nothing after that really interests me. If it wasn't for GTA and Socom, I doubt I would even have been buying any games this year.

no contest, it has to be GTA4. I kno everyone likes Socom, even me, but do u really think more people are anticipating that then GTA? or even metal gear?

Well I think I'm more of a video game nerd than most, because I love every game genre except for RPG's. But these are all the games I'm planning on getting this year...

I don't see how anyone can ONLY find two or three games from last list that interests them. However, some of those are PS3 exclusives, so the list would be different if I had a Xbox 360 instead.

My vote goes to Confrontation. MGS4 in a close second.

For me, it's a tie between Star Wars and SOCOM.

While I love SOCOM, I'm a die-hard fan of anything and everything Star Wars, so maybe Star Wars just a tad bit more, but SOCOM still is just as close since it's online.

Um... I pick Other (Final Fantasy XIII).

I don't own a PS3, but as soon as we get a release date on Final Fantasy XIII, I'll be getting one. I'll probably pick up Soulcalibur IV as well. Grand Theft Auto tires me, honestly.

I think gta4 will be the game of the year no doubt but the most anticipated for PS3 will be MGS4

I can't believe GTA4 is beating MGS4 on the poll... It's a good game but it just CAN'T beat MGS4. Metal Gear is constructed, designed, and planned way better than GTA ever was and it shows with each MGS game that is released.

Not to mention the storyline of the Metal Gear series is second to none.

I love GTA, Socom, and some Star Wars games but they just don't match up to Metal Gear.

2003 was the best year for video gaming. 2008 is bollocks... In fact that list is a decent catalyst for my argument against the 7th generation... massive development times (e.g Killzone 2), severe delays (e.g Haze), game dominating gimmicks (e.g environmental destuction in BFBC), general bullshittery (e.g MGS4 and MGO as seperate games)... bugger that.

Not only is there a lack of new blood to gaming (~16 of those are sequels) but there is little creativity even within the mind numbing series... Hell's Highway? Market Garden, we've only seen that half a dozen times before. Whoopee. If these developers are to be trusted, we spent five and a half years landing on a beach or two in France before a quick jaunt across a bridge, then having a night out in Berlin.

The whole industry is rotting as we speak- Creative Assembly, so great a year or two ago, released that garbage Battle for Asgard. Ubisoft have churned out so many titles they are damaging their own finances, EA haven't really bothered changing at all and Activision... polite words cannot suffice.

Slant 6 might not have been corrupted yet, and Rockstar are too damned good to go bad, and thats why those are the only two games I look forward to. The rest, I'm indifferent.
