NASCAR may not be much, but openwheel racing is very hard the arms, particularly the forearms.

You look at all the F1 drivers and they're all physically sound due to some the areas they race in (down-under, Middle East), not to mention there's big weight restrictions for each team. On some tracks drivers take 12 turns or more at 80+ mph and they make it look so simple for 60+ laps hitting turn with perfection.

Racing may not be physically demanding compared to other sports, but mentally it is the most grueling and it takes the most talent. One mistake, and there could be hell to pay.

bowling is definitely brutal. I wouldn't want to fight a bowler.

EDIT: MySpaceTV Videos: Bear Playing Hockey by EBAY_NEATSTUFF2008

How am I insulting anyone? Your statement was ignorant. It did not make any sense and was absolutely absurd. I never bashed anyone. Did I say you were ignorant? No. I said your statement was because your logic was flawed.

And, I'm not saying that hockey does or doesn't have harder hits in a hockey rink. I wouldn't be surprised if it did because of the higher speed they travel at though.
You said it yourself. If you didn't why else would I have said it?

Hockey hits are much more violent and have a lot more force than football or any other hits in sports. The main issue is the speed they travel. It's simple mathematics. There are many more reasons why hockey hits are much larger, too. For example, most contact in football involves players moving in the same direction. In hockey, you must be traveling in opposite directions to hit someone, thus creating twice the amount of force there alone.

Calcumalate (on purpose) the average speed of the players of a sport, then their average weight (pads don't count), add the average weight of their pads, and see how much force would be generated. Then, take the sort of terrain features there are in the area (billboards, grass, people) and see how much force they absorb, and then you can definitively say what sport has a harder hit.
More than that has to be factored. You cannot simply take the average weight of football players. Why? Half the guys on the field are fat men that do not hit.

You don't need to waste time doing nonsese like that, anyway.

Instead, simply post a video of a harder football hit. It has yet to be done and it certainly doesn't surprise me.

What about video gaming?

Easily the best and toughest sport ever invented.

You have to sit in almost the same position for lengthy amount of times, taking time out to eat and drink, and even have a few loo breaks. That takes some balls, leaving a game midway through to "refuel" that is.

Nothing screams "TOUGH GUY" like taking a **** midway through a TDM game on COD4.

I'm only going to reply to these two comments for two main reasons. One: I know I can't win the argument. Two: Why try to change your (or anyone else's) viewpoint when you've made it clear you won't accept the possibility of a different reality other than your own (not meant as an insult). That being said, I'll finally say what I came to say and be done with it.

There was a point to the statement. In the thread were you and the brits were arguing about which special forces is better, you said that it was Delta force. Well, later on people disagreed with your viewpoint or they pointed out things that didn't really work as an argument in their opinion. To prove them wrong, you brought up Mogidishu and stated that those who disagreed with your points or viewed it differently were ignorant. In this thread, you said that hockey is the toughest sport because it has bigger hits and is more physically demanding. When people disagreed with that, you kept bringing up reasons why hockey has bigger hits or is more physically demanding than their sport, and those who viewed it differently or disagreed with you were again ignorant. So, as you can see, I was trying to show that the two incidents mentioned are very similar.

As to the second part that I'm responding to, I have one question: Where are the quotes? Now, correct me if I'm wrong, but you had stated that I was trying to avoid the fact that hockey hits aren't as effective on a football field. How was I trying to avoid that fact? In my post, I had stated that a hockey player's hit wouldn't be as effective on a football field because he lacks experience in that environment, and the experience he has doesn't apply too well there. So, unless you were trying to say something else but worded it wrong, then please say so. Otherwise, show me exactly where and how I was trying to avoid the fact that a hockey hit isn't as effective on a football field.

Heres some stats for you. Taken from a UK magazine called NUTS.

UFC:

A Shin-kick to the chest from former heavyweight champion Bas Rutten has more than double the legal limit of trauma alowed in car crash tests.

Doctors measure the extent of an injury using the head injury criteria (HIC) System. A HIC of 250 causes unconciousness. A Bas Rutten left hook to the temple scores 391!

A Body slam from former light-heavyweight champion Tito Ortiz speards over a TONNE of force across the back of the slammed fighter.

And my favorite

When ex-heavyweight champion Randy Couture perfoms his famous "Ground and pound" techinique of pinning down his opponent and punching him in the face, his punches pack 910Kg of force - Twice the force of a punch from a heavyweight boxer.

To be honest I'd say Ice Hockey is the toughest. It's a much longer season than Football and throwing in the fight factor that isn't tolerated in the NFL gives Hockey my vote.

Now, if you ask me what the toughest position is in any sport I'd say being a Quarterback in the NFL.

Well it was said at the start that we were basing the poll on sports that aren't just pure fighting (boxing, judo, UFC, etc) so there you go.
