And you do go in the game to drive your oppnents into the ground.
Why should the length not matter? How can it not matter? Football players play a fraction of what hockey players play.

Someone is getting tackled. Sure. That doesn't mean it's a hard tackle. Football and rugby hits are not even close to hockey hits. Show me one football hit that is greater than huge hockey hits.

If you went into the game to "drive your opponents into the ground" (in reality, the offense has a job to score, the defense has a job to stop them, just like every sport. The players stop the offense, not "drive them into the ground), there would not be points.

You crossed the line on this one.

Those hits are equal to any hockey hits that are out there. Not saying football hits are worse but they are equal in brutality.

Hockey players travel at much higher speeds than football. I never said football or rugby did not have hard hits. I said hockey hits are much harder.

Nearly all of those hits (at least the legal ones) did not keep the player down. Most big football hits end with the hit player jumping right back up.

You said it yourself about soccer how it is mostly endurance... So now endurance is relevant to toughness in hockey?

All of those hits were legal.

And, the reason they get is up simple: they're tough. Whereas hockey players don't get up, because they are not as tough

How do you even make that connection? Hockey players play through vicious hits not 16 times, but 82 times a season.

Are you kidding? Most of the old hits were very illegal.

Writer, you're lucky you're not on Call of Dootie or I would make you cry like Wednesday night.

HAHA pwned!

Two football players running full speed at each other then smashing to a hault isn't tough? Hockey is hitting into the boards and such. You have a lot more running room on a football field. Football hits are just as bad as hockey hits.

Did anyone see the hit 59 seconds in! The guy did a 360 in the air and held onto the ball!!

Let me get this straight. You're saying two cars traveling at 20 miles an hour has the same impact as two cars traveling at 50?

Hockey hits are much more brutal. Have you even been to an ice rink? The boards and ice are hard as concrete, not soft grass.

I never said football hits weren't tough, just not nearly as tough as hockey hits.

Two cars colliding at 20mph will have much more impact than two cars that collide going the same direction. Add the velocitys of the football players hitting dead on compaired hockey players that are standing still or moving in the same direction. Ice can be hard I'll give ya that.

Do you even watch hockey? The players that get destroyed are the ones moving in opposite directions, just as in any sport.

Most football hits don't happen with both players moving at full speed.

You are supposed to tackle the player, not hit them, meaing it is rare for a big hit. Hockey doesn't have tackles, although that would be quite amusing.
