Baseball is a poor version of cricket, and it doesn't even have a tea break. It should not exist.
I don't really think equestrian sports count, its not that far from motor racing. I shouldn't have brought it up, we were NASCAR free! Spectators can often get hurt, not at the races but at cross country events... some are idiots and cross the course while horses are out on it, some have no luck when trying to catch a loose horse, and fence judges at the jumps have placed themselves in ridiculous places in the past. Horses are about as dangerous as motor vehicles in my mind, because the speed, while not in the hundreds of miles per hour, is sufficient to produce splattenings, and the animals themselves are insane. A car rolls to a stop, a horse just goes mad.
I daresay that socer would be the most skillful sport. The premise of the game is not complicated (it ain't on ice, the ball isn't tiny, tactics aren't often extreme) but hundreds of millions play it- to get to the top you have have a higher skill level than you would for smaller sports.

That was my point in my post. Nothing more, nothing less.

Nor do I. However, this poll is about the brutality of a sport. Hockey tops all others. I think hockey takes the cake in several categories, that's why I like it, but not all of them.

The idiots crossing the tracks do not make the sport dangerous or tough. Period, end of story. That's like a hockey fan climbing over the glass, falling to the ice getting injured and me calling it dangerous. All your reasons why horse racing is dangerous is at fault of those not even involved in the sport. Hockey and motor racing injuries to fans are not at fault to them.
You can't blame someone watching a hockey game for getting hit with a puck. You can blame someone for trying to cross the track.
Racing is much more dangerous to all participants than horse racing.
I agree with you that soccer does not take much skill to be able to play. Motor racing or hockey, on the other hand, do.

Probably the biggest skill required in soccer would be endurance. I don't know about you, but running around that large field for that long is pretty damned tough. I do enjoy seeing how they can curve the ball when they shoot it, though.

I think the toughest sport would have to be Mixed Martial Arts, without a doubt. Like UFC and stuff like that.

It does take a lot to be able to run for most of the game, but that's not really a skill. Compared to other sports, it doesn't take much.

Great, but those were excluded from this because those "sports" are solely fighting.

If it didn't take skill then everyone would do it to make money... Every sport takes skill period.

Anyone remember that Slam Ball "sport"? I don't know if they still show it on TV.
I used to watch it when I was on holiday in the US and was amazed by everything.
That looked like it took a lot of skill.
