You're probably right... I've had my copy of Halo 3 paid for well over four months ago.

But even still, my vote went to GTAIV... I like that series more, and it's still on the top of my "must play" list.

It will also have double the amount trade-ins towards one of the other games mentioned.

Great games aren't based off of sales. Any game has the potential to put up big numbers at launch, but only a truly great game (Socom 1 & 2, Guitar Hero series) can keep those numbers. For a game to survive these days, it needs to bring something new to the table (COD4, Assassin's Creed, Army of Two) that will capture the attention of the gaming community. This is not something that is possessed by Halo 3. It's just a re-hash of the same old game based on the overdone Humans vs. Aliens storyline.

So your basically looking to play Starship Troopers: The Game (been made) if you take that route.

I'd love to have 1 complete year go by where no games involving aliens come out. Sadly this will never happen because game designers can't produce new ideas.

Not really, though the movie's got it's own quality of bad-assery in it. Or, maybe I just like that redhead's ****? Who knows.

I was thinking more along the lines of a game that explores the greed of humanity. Like a storyline where we've pretty much consumed and polluted the Earth to the point of no return, and find a sutable planet for colonization. Hostile colonization.

What about that vampire shooter game? Ok, that was a big steaming next-gen turd. What about Dead Rising? Or is that too along the lines of Resident Evil?

I voted for Socom Confrontation before I even playeed the COD 4 beta. My vote would of definately gone to COD 4 if I knew beforehand. This game is straight up the best military shooter to date. Completely different then all other COD's.

Its funny...everybody on the mics (while playing COD 4 beta) are saying how they'll never get Halo 3. Most of the arguments are stuff like :
"its too happy azz..people jumping all over the place" , "takes a million shots to take someone out" , "unrealistic hit detection".. stuff like that.

How awesome would that be if a Halo vs. Socom game came out. Halo type charactors vs. Military type. That would probably be the biggest game in history.

Maybe not Halo vs Socom, but a Halo vs Gears of War would definitely give me a semi.

Dead Rising isn't too much like Resident Evil to be unoriginal. It's the fact the Dead Rising is practically a carbon copy of Dawn of the Dead that it can be called unoriginal.

Yes but there hasn't been a Dawn of the Dead video game, at least not to my knowledge.

I think I'm willing to accept similarities between movies and games, and games and movies. Otherwise you'd have to say almost every shooter is a rip-off of some war movie.

Oooh, what about a Rambo game? How awesome would that be? They could probably make a killing by putting that out with the old & haggard Stallone version, and then put out the young and crazy version purchasable through the marketplace.
