Best decade for music?

The best decade for Pop was the 1980s, but the best rock period is probably from the 1960s. Best disco music was from the 1970s. Best gargage rock and club mixes are from this era.

Not much good music is been made IMO right now. I like RHCP but there were around in the 90's.

Some 80's rock isn't bad either, but most of the music I listen to is 90's - early 00's stuff.

I wasn't aware that anyone actually liked the 90s. The only good things in that decade were bands that were already around from the 80s or earlier.

Its a tough one to call. The 60s saw the likes of greats like The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, The Who and a bit of Led Zep. 70s had Zep, Van Halen, AC/DC and Pink Floyd among others. The 80s saw Randy Rhoads with Ozzy Osbourne(for a short 2 years.) and Guns N' Roses in their prime. There is no way I could pick just one.
