I have been recently playing some S3 and was actually having fun (even took the time to beat the game again so I could get the IW and STG). After playing a few nights I went to back to S2 for a night just to play some of the old maps I missed. The game was so much harder then S3, I felt so noobish.

All that aside if you play S3 right, in small rooms with people you like you can have alot of fun. But for me it doesnt have the addicting factor that S2 did. I havent played either of the PSP games, I only logged into S1 once well after the game was pretty much dead, and I dont own Combined Assault (yet) so my vote goes to S2.

SOCOM 2 = most fun of the series.

SOCOM 1 = second most fun of the series.

SOCOM FTB = third most fun of the series.

SOCOM 3 = fourth most fun of the series.

SOCOM CA = never played it, can't say.

SOCOM FTB2 = never played it, can't say.

Socom 2's the fan favorite, but I voted for Combined Assault.

It's got all the best of S3's new features, with S2 style maps.

It's the best of both worlds.

agreed.. the reason that s3 is sucha dissapointment is because they did too much.. the maps are wayyy too big compared to s2 and s2's gameplay was really fast paced and didnt take too long.. s3 takes forever and too much team work in s2 u could take out a whole team in one area and within seconds..

Socom 2. Ever since the tourney put together by Pan, I have had trouble not putting it away. And it'd probably be better if it had S1s hit detection. Oh well. Still fun the way it is.

I picked Socom 2. Socom 1 is great, but I chose S2 because it's pretty much the "CA" to S1. It's almost the exact same gameplay, with some new guns and new maps. If there was only one game for me to ever play again, Socom 2 would be it. Hands down.

Socom 3 changed the game too much, in a negative way. It took the skill right out of the game.

Socom 2 is by far the best out of the series, in my opinion. I liked S3 at first, but it got old real fast. It just wasn't the same game, and I really enjoyed Socom 2's gameplay, along with the great maps.

I wish they would have improved on the hit detection, and possibly the lag on socom 2, and called it socom 3.
