Where do you live?
I'm wondering more about the characteristics of your setting, rather than the actual location...
I've lived in all three types, right now in the city (downtown Orlando) and I find they are all different ways of life in some regard. I believe that growing up in a certain one of the three really plays a factor in your personality type as well.
I find rural most relaxing and calm, yet inconvenient (when you have to drive 40 minutes to the groceries it can get annoying)... city life I find to be extremely convenient (I travel 5 minutes to school and back each day...) but not so peaceful (it's near 3:00am and I hear a bunch of drunks yelling on the road something from 18 stories high). Suburban is the middle of each, which is the type of setting I grew up in, but I am torn on which one I prefer. Right now I think it's well worth it to tolerate the "city life" but I think I would most love rural areas in the long run.
Fun fact: Contrary to popular belief, most violent crimes occur in rural areas rather than urban or suburbans. Urban violent crimes, however, are more likely to be committed by strangers than in rural areas. Take it home. Chew it.

I've lived in all three aswell. Right now I live on the outer skirts of the residential area of the city. I hate living IN the city, too much noise and action. I hate living in the country because of the reason you stated, living far from everywhere. Suburbs just isn't my style, got into too much trouble, that's why my parents took me out
I like where I live now, not too much going on, but enough to get by.

Grew up in the country. Farm setting, lots of animals and nature, no amenities.
Currently living in the city (for the past 16 years). Lots of amenities, no nature, many nasty people.
God DAMN!!! I hate the city. Really. Seriously.

I've always lived out in teh countryside when I am given a choice... Britain is much more densely populated than the US so there are towns and cities everywhere so it doesn't take long to get to where you want to be

I live in one the last country areas around my City. I have 2 Acres of fenced in land. it's a country setting everything is ultra-convienient. The land I have has alot of citrus trees ( Orange Grapefruit and Lemon ), and a Huge smoker thats' always slowly cooking animal flesh at Low tempatures. I can have a bonfire on my property which is very important to me. I have quick access to the Gulf of Mexico within 10 Minutes...And the Stadium that I see The Buccaneers perform poorly in, is only 40 Minutes Aways. Disney Theme Parks a mere Hour and 45 Minutes away.
Basically, on a Saturday night it's like a Scene from the movie Quest for Fire only with Budweiser & Rum

People at Canadian Tire ask me if I work there. It says "Team Canadian Tire" on my shirt and I have a name tag, dumbass!
I live in the suburbs. I'm 10 minutes from my town, 13 minutes from work, 15 minutes from school, and twenty five to sixty minutes from downtown in a nearby city.

I've lived in the ghetto, sucks. I've lived in the country, peaceful, Riding Fourwheelers and Field parties with alchohol.
I'm currently living in the suburbs, 10 min away from school, 25min from dowtown, and about 15min from all the major stores.
