I know right. My parents used to do that and I'd be like "What! Already?"
But since then my mom had quit (requirement for her surgery in 2006). And actually her first day without a cigarette was Mother's Day.
My dad quit along with my mom but started again a couple months later. That was actually his most successful attempt at quitting and he's been smoking since he was 13. But my great aunt started smoking when she was 10 or 11 and died of natural causes at age 86 (seriously).
My dad's side of the family is known for having strong bodies, other than two of my uncles that tore their knees up playing high school football. Also a lot of smokers.
My mom's side is known for knee problems and heart problems. My grandfather had open heart surgery last year right before my graduation, but he (and my grandma) are coming out in a couple weeks for my sister's graduation. I very excite!! But my mom's family also has a lot of smokers. Obviously my grandfather quit with his surgery last year.
The current generation I don't think there are any smokers, just drinkers (of age and underage). Neither of my brothers or their wives smoke. My sister doesn't smoke. None of my cousins smoke. I don't smoke.
