The big question
Now I know this poll has been made several times before. But since peoples opinions might have changed, and I haven't seen one of these in a while, I thought it was time to bring it up again

I voted for SOCOM II. It was a revolutionary period in the gaming world of PS2, not only that, but there are things called "fire fights" in there. Not everyone likes to ***** a sniper in there.
Who TF would vote for the last one?! Its an alternative to FTB, but its no SOCOM, its just like my Rainbow Six 3 on my phone.

SOCOM II by far. I was introduced to the online aspect of SOCOM through this game. It was acutally my first online game, ever. I played that game for 2 years. It was my addiction. My sick, twisted, little addiction. SOCOM 3 doesn't even compare to this game.

Socom 1 by far..even though I went directly from Socom 1 to Socom 3.
Got bored one day, saw Socom 1 laying on the game shelf and saw it was online, so I popped it in and started playing..the learning curve was big, so I was tooled on round after round after round, but there was still that thing that made you want more and more.
I didn't even play it at it's peak..I played it when it started to die off, and it still was a very very fun game, and addictive. I played for months on end, then stopped playing..few months later, popped it back in and got that same addiction again, and played until Socom 3 came out.
Playing with the older guys that smoked all day(you know what I'm talking about.. ) the once and awhile little kids, the good players, bad players, players with no mics, even cheaters..going into a random room and playing with all randoms and only a few people that were clanmates, and basically working through round by round with teamwork to beat the other team..without argueing with anyone, people teamkilling(on purpose) or fighting..how everyone pulled through and worked together was amazing..it was all part of the Socom experience, and the game wouldn't be the same without all of that. It's amazing how different S1 is to how S3 is..the people that play it, type of people, hell, just everything about it.
And by hearing what everyone has to say about S2, it really makes me wish I had that game during it's peak, and played it..

No contest, Socom 2.
One of the best games of all time, and still one of my favorites, even though I don't play it that often.
Socom 1, is just not that fun to play for an extended period of play. I really don't like how the gameplay is so slow, and there is something about the appearence of the game that bothers me. The only thing I do like about Socom 1 is the hit detection. No matter what gun you had, you could kill someone in X amount of hits. No one sponged in that game either.
Socom 3 is fun to play, but the people that play the game the way they do seem to make the game itself not fun. There are so many things people do now that is just boring (camping, ghillie suits, bushes, you know the drill....), and turns me off a little. Granted not all games are played like this, but a lot of public rooms are.
Socom 2 during it's peak was great, and even still now. You could jump into any public room and have fun no matter what. The maps were flat out awesome. No one really camped like they do now. It's just straight run and gun, which is entertaining and fun to play in.

I like Socom 3. I just do not like the gameplay of S2. I figure Socom 1 was the same sort of play as S2.
My friend had S2 and I played it didn't like it much.
Then I heard Socom 3 came out. I didn't even rent it, I went to blockbuster and bought it, the guy said it was a great choice, I had so much fun on this game, being in S3, quicksniping, etc.
I'm quitting socom though.

Socom 3 is a much, much more fun game. The problem isn't the game itself, it's the people who play it. It was more fun to play Socom 2 a lot of the time because there were far fewer problems with people playing in an un-fun manner.

Socom 2. It makes me enjoy playing it, and keeps me at it, in ways s3 never could.
I despise s3. I often wonder at what would have happened if they never made it. S2 would still have alot of players, and zipper would be doing something about the cheating.
If it weren't for cheaters and lag on s2, there probably wouldn't be alot of people playing s3.
