He's gettin his money while your on here complaining about his selection of songs even though you've probably only listened to those songs. 50 is one of the most versatile mainstream rappers right now, the guy can rap about anything and thats why I listen to his music because it helps me write.

By the way rap=rhythm and poetry. You guys need to stop judging rap by a few artist. The real reason people hate rap is because they dont like to see minorities succeed. When rock n roll was about sex drugs and money nobody complained.

All music is the same, they are just performed differently. I can find a heavy metal song now that is similar to a rap song. I can find a country song that is similar to R&B. Music is music, each form of music has the same topics(sex, drugs, money, violence, love, politics and all that) but for some reason rap draws the most hate, Why?

if you ask me its because America doesn't want to see minorities succeed in life and make the right choices. I mean damn, I heard someone the other day say LeBron James is a greedy like every other black person because of that contract he signed. It's called business, when white people do it its a big problem.

And I agree with +Evan, but music is unoriginal now because its been done for so long, theres not that much to talk about considering everything has been done.
I strongly disagree with that statement. Most people dont hate rap because their racist, they just dont like the style of music. If everyone based their opinons on music by race then there wouldnt have been sucesful African Americans like Jimi Hendrix, B.B. King, Arthera Franklin, extc. The reason those people suceeded was they created somthing new and good. Jimi Hendrix played guitar like no one else and inspired a genration to pick up a guitar and explore the world of music, what has 50 Cent ever done? From what I have heard he tells people that he has been shot 9 times and that hes a gangster. That may not be all he is saying, but from what I see on MTV and BET thats pretty much it. Most people that dont like rap dont listen to underground rap, they only here rap thats played everywhere (mainstream) which is usually full of crap. So the people that dont like rap only have the mainstream to base their tastes on, just like people who dont like rock always bring up emo rock because thats whats big these days and is played all over.

In 30 years people probably wont remember 50 Cent because he honestly hasnt had a huge impact in the music industry. Sure he has had a few hit singles but just like some other mainstream rappers he could disapear off the charts in a couple of years. Hendrix only had four years of fame before he died but even after over 30 years of him being dead he is still considered a great musician. People will always remeber Hendrix and other Pioneers of Blues, Soul and other genres that are primarly made up of African Americans but mainstream rap may not have that chance since it is tainted so much by image and style that its not even about the music anymore. Its more about the rims on thier cars and grills in their teeth. Just like rockers who look back at hair metal and say "WTF that stuff is crap" because it was full of poofy hair and makeup (and crappy music). And honestly its not only white people dont like rap. You should see what some African Americans Blues and Jazz artists have said about Rap, usually its saying somthing like the music just gives African Americans in music a bad name.

If you really think most Americans dont like seeing minorites suceed then you my friend need to get your head checked. Yes there is still racisim in this country, but the vast majorty have been raised to believe that no matter the color of your skin or the God(s) you pray to all men are created equal.

Before he was shot no one knew about him. Its all media. I remember when he was shot it was all over MTV.

All you people hear is the cus words in a song. I can list a bunch of songs that 50cent has wrote that are nice and about positive stuff.

LmAo!!!! c'mon

One of the reason why I like 50cent is because he all about buisness. He has sneakers, vitamin water, clothing line, rap group, rap label, book and game.( The game is pretty hot but the aiming sucks.)

You people have to remember 50cent been around for a long time. He just blew up about 3yrs ago. He had to gain a rep underground.

Just like biggie he has been dead for about 5yrs but every rapper says that he and Tupac are the best rappers ever.

ok so basically rap = the best thing ever ahaha lol but yeah i cant really stand rock considering metal is just people screaming and emo rock is about people hating there lifes which is like the opposite of rap.. mainstream rap is just people talkin about how much they like there life which is what you should be talking about.. plus i could never go in a club and actually try to dance to a rock song... which with rap you can..

He did not create vitamin water, he didnt create his sneakers or design his own clothing line. People created it for him and then he put his name on it so it would sell to a bunch of kids. Besides do you really want to remeber 50 Cent for his business side or his musical side. That was one of my main points of my orginal post, rappers are getting so caught up in their side projects that they forget about their rap careers. When was the last time P. Diddy put out an album? All I ever see of him is some new TV show he is making or some new cloths line. Musicians should focus on music, not cloths, drinks, and other random stuff.

When you say 50 Cent has been around for a long time, how long do you mean? Does long mean to you like 5-10 years or a few decades? And to be honest I think one of the reasons that most consider Tupac and Biggie to be the greatest is they both died because of a huge rap war. I think they are more remebered for their examples of what a feud can lead too, not as much their music.

They rock!!!! At their last concert, after their first three songs, I was so incredibly tired. Their live CD owns everything.

Supertones have a ton of songs. An incredibly talented writer. Thats the only rap i'll listen to.

Just like roca wear, phat farm, ecko and sean john. They dont design, they have someone else design and they look it over and decided if they want to put them on the shelves.

Ahh Puffy isn't rapping anymore because he is producing now. Just like Dr. Jay. And he is actually coming out with a CD soon.

The only problem i got against everyones ignorance against rap is that they think its all about guns, sex, and drugs. If you dont like rap for that reason, then you are ignorant. If you dont like rap simply because its not your style of music, then im ok with that. But is it all your fault that you dont like rap cuz of the girls and cars? No, its the fans fault. They want music about girls and cars theyre gonna get it. They dont even know what the definiton of a lyric is. I could go in a deep convo about why rap is the way it is, but bla, why should i waste my time on a buncha ignorant fools. Not like you'd care.

and to the person that said benefits cd sucks, prolly does, but that song was sick.

I see you read well.
We hate with people that succeed, you've got to be kidding right??? You should read the rest of the thread! As far as I know I listen to music by people who succeed and many others here. You said it yourself hes getting annoying, at first, Ok, whatever its like a phase but after a while, songs with sounds like the ones in Many Men in the begining going on throughout the song, it does get repetative and crappy IMO
