Oh, well I forgot about MGA. I forgot about the handhelds. Never played the game but those are not really true Metal Gear games are they? Just kind of doing mission and killing people right?

You are correct... they follow the MGS storyline with many characters, weapons, etc. that are mentioned in the entire MGS "universe". But that's about all that they have in common...
I traded in MGA the other day... got bored with it. Not enough action... I might check out the MGA sequel, though.

I voted for MGS 3 because its the only one I have played :). I got it for Christmas the year it came out and the first day I played it I hated the playstyle and just stopped. Ironically the day before the christmas next year I tried it again and it was awesome, I didnt stop playing it for 2 days (It took me a while because I couldnt beat The End). I plan on playing the other games because this one was really fun and I cant wait for MGS4.

MGS2 was the greatest. I played it and beat it so many times. Just a great overall game.

Have you played MGS1 and 3? I can't believe people who have played all the Metal Gear Solid's would like MGS2 the most. It was a fun game, I admit, but the story and main character could use a lot of fixing.
Also, has anyone seen Raiden in the new MGS4 trailer? He's like the new ninja, he's badass now.

Yeah, I posted the new MGS4 video in the "action/adventure" section after E3 happened... I was shocked to see how they recreated his look. He even sounds more mature (and not like a whiney teenager), if you ask me.
Kudos to Kojima-san & his design team.

I love MGS: Snake Eater, but I think that the first Metal Gear for ps1 was the damn hardest and therefore I think it gets the vote for the best because I love hard games.
Although I havent played the first one in a long time now, so that might have to do with my age and ability to play the game at the time and how hard I thought it was, but screw it...it gets the vote anyway.

I played all of them. Not so much of MSG3. Is it worth playing through the game? The controls are really akward.

Not really, they are similar to MGS2, just better.

Every MGS game is downright amazing. But nothing beats the 1st one, They all had great story lines. Put aside the gay little douche bag raiden in MGS2, it was still one of the best games ever made. Great story line, everything. In MGS3, well, its fun playing as big boss and seeing how him, and solid snake came to be.
I still think MGS 1 was the best though, although I do love the mullet, the short hair was still badass.
If you guys could see how indepth the MGS story line goes, and EVERYTHING behind the game, you would bow down to hideo, there is a crap load of secret things and references in the game. Yout hink the characters are talking about 1 thing, but they are totally talking about a different thing. Especially MGS2.
