"They have to cut the price, because if they don't, the attach rates are likely to slow", he continues. "If we are being realistic, we might have to stop supporting Sony...When we look at 2010 and 2011, we might want to consider if we support the console - and the PSP [portable] too".
In that absolute worst-case scenario, that would mean no Call of Duty for Sony consoles. No Guitar Hero for Sony consoles. No Tony Hawk, either. It probably won't ever come to that, of course, but Kotick's words are still worth noting. After all, when was the last time you ever saw a third-party publisher so openly threaten a major platform holder?
Is he trying to look not very nice and make Activision go Evil Empire like EA was? Maybe I read too many comments from Kotaku users. Call of Duty and other Activision-published games seem to sell fairly well on PS3. To me it doesn't look like games for PS3 will become nonprofitable any time soon.
Just goes to show how much sony screwed up this gen. All my friends used to be die hard ps2 fans because of socom but now they all(me included) bought 360s due to the lack of decent ps3 games. Its sad but oh well Live has some nice features the psn doesnt have anyways.

"every time a team mate flies the Apache backwards or into one of the cranes, an angel is brutally murdered"
Activision: "Drop the price of your hardware, so we can scam the consumers by selling OUR overpriced hardware! ($120 DJ Hero game, and a $160 Tony Hawk Ride game)"
Activision is retarded.
The 5 million COD4 sales, and the 4 million World at War sales says they won't stop support. Plus, Guitar Hero is very prominent on the PS3. They are clearly bluffing.
Your console's too expensive to buy, too expensive to develop for, and we're beginning to wonder if it's worth the effort to make games for it anymore.
Plus that would also mean to Ultimate Alliance 2, which to me would be a huge disappoint consider some of my favorite games have been Legends 1&2 as well as U.A. 1. Thank god they don't have Brutal Legend anymore.
Activision is just trying to bully the big boy and would end up doing nothing but hurting themselves in the end.
Activision is king, no doubt about it. When Bobby Kotick sneezes, the Kleenex they use has so much creative fluid on it, it becomes a bestseller. So if he tells Sony to jump, Sony should simply ask how high (or in this case, how low). Tequila asked if Activision is going evil empire on us, but I think it's Sony that's the evil empire, and Activision is leading the rebellion.
