| Ideas for a Rez follow-up soundtrack First of all, I'd like to add that I wasn't too sure where this thread should be placed. I use the PlayStation 2 version of Rez, hence I kind of just jumped in here, but it was originally on the Sega Dreamcast and has been updated for Xbox Live. Do move this topic if I have stupidly landed it in the wrong area - mind, this isn't really about the original game, rather ideas for a hypothetical Rez 2.
For those who don't know what Rez is, it's a rail-shooter/music game that is unique in both its artistic direction and how it implements music into the game, and how your actions affect the music. The songs themselves I had never heard before, but it got me thinking... there were a few songs that I had heard that I thought would work well in that kind of game. This will probably be more applicable to people who have actually experienced the game, however you could alternatively hit YouTube and watch some videos to see how it works, at least.
I'm also interested in hearing of other songs that people consider worthy of that kind of conversion.
One of the first that game in mind for me was Jam & Spoon's track "Follow Me!", which is a 13 minute long trance track that was included in the "Ride in the Night" single. The reason I thought it would be interesting is because of the fact that the structure of the song is literally perfect for the game - as you go through "layers" in the game, a total of ten per level, the music adds something or changes in some specific way - and not to mention the track doesn't have a whole lot going on, meaning that the sounds made by the player's actions wouldn't stand out.
Oh, God, this has ended up longer than I had expected. >.> I'll add some more in other posts if people actually respond to this. But yeah, basically what I'm interested in knowing is what you consider applicable to be included in such a game and why.
