You don't think $2 is fair for a day's work? If it's really that simple just create your own theme and have done with it. It doesn't matter how long it takes. If somebody has created something that you like then why the hell shouldn't they expect to be paid for that work?
I would require Sony's permission and the tools to create something on the PS3 (dev kit).
This guy won't get those two dollars anyways. The people who make these things are most likely Sony employees or other people Sony already pays. I can can guarantee you that 99% of the money from these themes goes directly to Sony. You aren't helping out the little guy by buying his theme. You're just paying for an outrageously overpriced thing and giving your money directly to Sony.

Outrageously Overpriced I haven't seen a theme over $2. These themes are OK at best. I've seen hundreds of themes better than these for FREE on PS3-themes.com .
So dont worry guy, Sony isnt out nickel & dime you like Micro$oft. They still allow you to download free themes from other sources.

well first we havent seen any of these themes so i dont think we can sit here and complain that they re charging for them. If these themes are as premium as they say, then they should be well worth the 1 or 2 dollars they want you to pay for them. This third party company, put in the extra work to give our asses premium themes to set them apart from the 360s barebones ones, so why complain on principal? Sony has weened people on "free! free! free!" so long its biting them in the ***.

As much potential as this has to be true, do you know this for a fact? I've not read that anywhere and it's not good practice to throw around bold accusations. As far as we know and should assume, designers are compensated justly.

im pretty sure that if all the theme profit goes to sony, then theyve probably paid the dev in advance, or if not , get paid some type of royalties.

I can assure you that developers do not collect royalty checks for their efforts.
Designer designs, developer builds, Company sells through PSN, Company gets their percentage of the payment and SCEA gets theirs.
Well everyone's fairly compensated, which is all that matters. Nobody's being ripped off, or not getting their fair share, which I think is what people were worried about.
