We are a little over a week away for this game, and I haven't been this psyched for a game release in a long time. I might even go to my first midnight release since MGS4. There is unbelievable hype for it so what are your guys' thoughts about it, and if you played the demo give your opinion?

As I said on Twitter, the demo is freaking awesome... and shivs to the neck never looked so good. I've had a copy of TLOU preordered since 2012.

IGN put up their review today, and they gave it a 10/10. A couple places actually have put out reviews and are giving it perfect marks. CAN'T WAIT!

After 4 hours or so of gameplay I'm hesitant about the perfect ratings. I have tons of faith in Naughty Dog but the first few hours feel like a long tutorial and could not be any more linear and boring. I really hope this changes soon because the last thing I needed this week was a $60 sleeping aid.

And yes I know it is a stealth game and not a Call of Duty run and gun orgy. I like stealth games very much. So far this is boring to me and that's all I can say at the moment.

I'm just pissed that a nimrod DCUO leaguemate of ours pretty much ruined the first hour (or more) of the game's story for me this past Friday night... that being said, I'm enjoying the game more now that I'm finally past the part that he was busy spoling for other people.

I am still hesitant on buying this game. Do you guys think it is scary at all? Is it too easy??

Personally, I don't think it's scary... but it's definitely some of Naughty Dog's best work to date. I absolutely loved the way they "explained" the outbreak at the beginning of the game! I think it's one of the best PS3 games out there.

And no, I don't think it's overly easy (I started on normal) and there are higher difficulty settings - much like the Uncharted series.

I agree about the not scary issue. If anything the scariest aspect is the feeling of desolation. There is no map to follow and no information about where you are in the game. It's just you and pockets of survivors/infected and nature transforming what was into what will be. The game has definitely picked up tempo now that I'm almost halfway done but the feeling of loneliness is getting greater as well. I still don't see how it got perfect scores but perhaps when I'm done I'll change my mind. It is certainly more of a work of art than it is a game and for this I'm really unsure as to how to rate it.

I think as you get later on in the game it does get a bit more scarier cause you face more things from the outbreak, as easy goes its not that - if you complete the game and then go on game-plus that's what makes it that little easier but as Negative Creep said the difficulty is like Uncharted a little harder than you might expect.

Maybe it was because I was younger but I loved how scary Resident Evil was on PS. I have played so many next gen (I guess last gen now) games and just feel none were scary. I am not saying it is my only reason for getting the game, it will just help bring back the excitement I missed from the older Resident evil games.

I've also heard great things about the mp. I know a bunch of vets here have it so I hope we start playing soon. Apparently it's fun as long as you work together and communicate.

As far as the single player goes I'm already halfway through my second playthrough and I disagree with all the perfect scores. It truly is a beautiful game with a gripping story but it is not quite perfect. It can drag at times and be a bit boring. I understand that scavenging for rare supplies is a necessary part of traveling post apocalypse with a teenager but that doesn't necessarily translate into exciting gameplay. All in all Naughty Dog delivered an excellent story that you play along with in a completely linear direction but I don't see how it got perfect scores. I still recommend it as a no brainer purchase at full price as long as you understand that it'll take approx 4 hours to get to any exciting gameplay and lots of time will be spent searching and sneaking around.

I had a completely neutral and unbiased view of this game before playing.

After E3 last year, I saw the gameplay footage when you and Ellie attack the men in an abandoned building, ending with the player shooting a guy in the face with a shotgun (I'm sure everyone knows the video I'm talking about). I thought it looked pretty sweet but forgot all about it. I mainly play shooting games and NHL, so it's not a game I'd automatically get. Anyway I forgot all about the game until I saw a post on another forum that said the game had just come out. I didn't want to drop 60 bucks on a game I wouldn't know if I'd like, let alone knew nothing about so I tried to rent it from Redbox. It was sold out in every location within 30 miles (day of release). I kept checking their website and finally found one that had it the next day. I rented it and I'm glad I had nothing planned that weekend because I literally spent all weekend playing the story, eventually beating it.

It is by far the best video game I have ever played (single player). I didn't even hear about the amazing reviews and ratings it got until I started looking this game up online. I've never seen a better looking game, nor have I felt so connected with the story and characters. I'm trying to buy a house right now so I originally wasn't going to buy the game. Three days after returning it and I'm still thinking about the game and had to have it. I called every local place near me and everyone was out of stock. I finally ordered it off Amazon and just received it this evening. I'm going to definitely play through the single player again and then start playing online. If you're thinking about getting this game, stop and just get it.

Maybe my lack of hype/expectations made it better than some who have read all the reviews but it was an awesome game. My roommate even sat and watched me play the entire time, he was that immersed in it. If it sounds like I'm sucking this game's **** it's because I am. Best single player experience I've had. I haven't played online but I don't think anything will beat S2 for online play.

I don't even know how the online works but do you guys have a clan or something? I'd be down to get some games going with you guys.

    Scuba, WB.

this thread, plus this MP walkthrough video I checked out this morning has me interested as well. Looks like a nice change of pace from the typical COD run-n-gun...non-stop action sht. Plus, i'm diggin how it's PS3 only.

But at the same time SURPRISED they bypassed the PC market with this golden opportunity.

Finally a stealth / action shooter game, with awesome mechanics and small maps.

We should get some games going for TLOU.

I just got done playing online and am very impressed. Playing the round based mode brought back memories of SOCOM and my heart actually started beating when I was the last man, just like the good old days of SOCOM. It's definitely an awesome game and online is something completely different from anything I've played.
