Looking to buy a new gaming console: Help!
Hello everyone! I'm looking to buy a new video game console, however, I am not sure what I would like to purchase. I like RPG games, it's my favorite genre. Final fantasy 2,3, and 7 were among some of my favorites in the past. First person shooters and adventure/action games are also a favorite. I am a fan of some of the older classics, such as Metroid, Zelda, and Mario. I pay close attention to detail, so graphics and music/sound effects are also very important to me.
What I do not want is to play any sort of sports games at all. I really don't enjoy watching sports, so I really can't hype myself up to play any sort of sports game. I am also not a fan of cartoonish graphics. Some cartoonish games are successful that I play, such as World of Warcraft, but I really don't want a system that releases an abundance of games meant for a child or adolescent. I also don't want to spend an arm and a leg for the initial purchase of the console, perhaps no more than $400.00.
So, everyone, tell me: should I purchase a Wii, an Xbox 360, or a PS3? I have an XBox right now, wasn't very satisfied with the selection of games, especially in the RPG department. If you say a Wii, where the heck can I purchase one? They seem to be out of stock everywhere, including online. PS3 seems rather expensive, but maybe it's the right investment.
