Im really bored and would just like to play an engaging RPG game from the SNES era. But not Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana or any of those main stream games we've all heard of and how great they are and all that. Because I know how good they are. I've played them.
xD I was actually looking at that one. I was almost considering playing it, but all these reviews were saying that it was repetitive, that there was no story line and the battle system was nothing new...and the people who loved it were really only telling them that they obviously had no taste and needed to go die (or some other horrible thing)
Consider the following games, in addition to those already recommended:
Soul Blazer
Illusion of Gaia
Bahmuut Lagoon
Secret of the Stars
Breath of Fire
Breath of Fire II
Star Ocean
These are all great SNES games. Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia, and Terranigma are a series. Breath of Fire is my favorite from this list.
You might also consider some GBA games. Several RPGs on the GBA are similar to SNES era games. Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age are examples. Tales of Phantasia and Zelda: A Link to the Past are SNES games ported to GBA.
