Reset Ranks

It's not lag, there are no longer going to be rankings for Socom 2.

Ok, this is what I heard while playing online today.

The ranks are being reset because DNAS is trying to do away with people cheating to get their rank ("Rank up" rooms). Someone I was playing with called them while we were playing and said they were trying to fix the rank up problem. People's ranks, I'm supposing, will be based on their ratings.

Another this I heard from that ***** TWO FACE (lol, for anyone that plays Demo in US East) was that they were going to try to shutdown Socom 2 and move the maps to Socom 3 by making people buy map packs and charge the credit cards used for verification. I think this may be a rumor because I doubt Zipper will take the time to reformat all of the old maps to the Socom 3 engine. I've never played Socom 3 so I don't know how different it is, but this is just my opinion. Long live BHQ.

Ok big deal!!!! so what i like socom 2 better than socom 3. i was a ****ing captain but even if the ranks do reset who cares just get it back up. if u ppl are that avid about socom 2 then getting ure rank up should be easy again. but id bet that this is all just some lagg and everyones overeacting.

Hi, been gone from this forum thing for a while now, however, i feel that i needed to come back. S2 is the best of all the SOCOM series, which i have played since the very start. S3 was the biggest disapointment to me since the game was created. Beating the single player on admiral in 3 hrs is not fun. Simply put, i could care less about the ranks, the stats remain, that is what is important. i Zipper really wants money, they should change parent companies, and move to XBOX for money on LIVE. Nevertheless, I have played all 3 games for many years now and went back to S2 only 2 months after owning S3 (I should never of varified my account) My clan is still on S3, but i have found far more competition out of S2 than S3, simply put you need skill to play S2, unlike S3, which has graphics = to CS and gameplay like any other shooter, S2 RULES, S3 EATS SH*T

That's nice and all, but it doesn't belong in this thread, and I'd rather not get this locked, since I still want to know why the ranks are gone.

I believe it has to do with the rank up's no point in ranking up anymore if you have no rank. Not that ranking up hasn't always been stupid anyway.

i know this for sure and its either one of these two things... its either they have the ranks totally( you will still have your stats and everything but no rank ) you all know this one but the other one that im leaning toward is the servers have been lagging bad and the ranks accidently dissapeared and they will be resetting this right as i talk because they are doing the server maintanance now. It started on monday... the first mantinance this week and im thinking it will end after this one today.. maybe im wrong and if i am im sorry.

i dont really care much for the ranks, but when i do in other rooms i see this T^, wtf is T^ rooms????
