The movement is slower.. its alot glitcher.. and the guns shoot way slower...
But im used to it cuz i used to be die hard socom 2
Basically everything the opposite of what he said, except for the guns shooting slower. People move faster in Socom 2 and there is less glitching.

You won't get killed by spectaters in Socom 2. Rounds don't go the whole 5 minutes every round. There are no ghuille suits and less snipers. People actually talk on the mics and they don't screw up all the time. The maps are a lot better. The most deaths I've ever gotten in a round is 1. It's a lot better, more fun, and 30 dollars cheaper.

The number of people playing Socom 3 isn't near the number that used to play Socom 2. Some people have gone back to Socom 2, and some people have just stopped playing altogether, probaby because some of their clan still plays 3.

great post! I have been wondering the same thing for a couple months myself and have started to get a little bored w/S3. I too am a noob to the franchise so I think I might pick up S2.
I fear they will shut down the servers though, which is why I haven't bought it yet.

They should probable have them up for at least a year after the new socom 3 was released. I think that that was the case with socom 1 when socom 2 came out. For all I know the Socom 1 servers could still be up and running. Anyone know if that is the case?

If you like Socom 3, you might not like Socom 2. It actually takes skill, you have to aim, shots go where your cursor is, it's fast paced, there are not bushes and ghillie suits everywhere. It's a completely different game.

There are about 6000 people on most nights, but it usually ranges about 2-4000 most of the time. I'd say, if you have $20, go ahead and grab it. if you want to play a game that is often more fun, although, not always better than Socom 3.

last night I played Socom 2 for the first time, since the release of Socom 3, and I must say Socom 2 is exactly how I remember it, FUN. I played one game of BLizzard and one game of Crossroads and "I Still Got It." I'll give it a day or 2 before I get as good as I was.

Socom 2 has a better replay or fun factor than 3. The only reason I ever stopped playing is because I thought 3 would be better. Socom 2 is more addiciting, I honestly wanted to trade in Socom 3 for store credit somewhere but I hear you only get like $12.00. Go get Socom 2, almost everybody on there feels the same way about Socom 3, it sucks. Socom 2 is the best game ever made

PS3 ID : Cylon-

I would say pick it up, its only 20 bucks. I think it is more fun at times comapred to socom 3. Socom 3 gts me very frustrated with all the campers hiding in a bush with a ghillie suit and a sniper rifle. Like others have said, socom 2 takes skill to play unlike socom 3. Anyon ecan get kills in socom 3, but you actually have to try and kill the other team in socom 2. Plus socom 2 has all the old maps

SOCOM 2 is for times when you might not have 2-4 hours to sit in front of your TV and play.

The action is quick and furious. If you are into the more tactical aspects of SOCOM then SOCOM 3 is better.

personally i think socom2 is 20x better than 3. i like the small maps that make you think death is around any corner. it adds for a whole diferent gameplay also many people play socom 2 many times i cannot get in at least 7 different rooms becuase they are full.

basically i think s2 is by far the better game, faster paced, not everybody is sniping, and it's just way more fun. play it. do it.
