Patch and Server Errors

I just bought Socom 3 and a USB headset yesterday in hopes of getting my online multiplayer game on shelling out nearly 100 dollars. Which is akin to millions for a college student.

Anyway, I go to log in, see that I have to download a patch, I read that it will appear corrupt and that I have to download it a second time. I download the patch, it takes seconds, I save it to my memory card in slot 1, I reboot, it loads up, there is an error like it says, I log back in to the online mode, it appears that the patch is working as I am optioned with logging into the Socom 3 Universe (not the Socom 3 mini patch one) I press X, am presented with another patch download screen, it starts downloading, 15 - 20 minutes later it is 5% done and I get a "Server Error" message. WHAT THE BEEJESUS is going on!? I have tried it about 10 times since yesterday and I always get the same result. I just want to play the game online, that is why I bought it. Please don't tell me I just wasted 100 dollars. If anyone has any info or insight into this problem I would really appreciate it.

did you buy socom 3 or 2? if it was 3 you might wanna post it in the socom 3 section next time because it will be more likely to be answered

anyway i would say, if your talking about 3, to just wait a day and then try it again. if its 2 then the patch might have been deleted and no longer available not really sure tho
