Is this still played?

Hi, everbody
This is my first post, I'm the RagingCajun and you'll probably here more from me in the days to come

Here's my question

I NEVER played any of the SOCOM games untill the third (This due to lack of a router for my DSL line and the single player...well you know). I have read extensivly that many believe that the second SOCOM is better than the third. Honestly, I do like the Thrid (online only), but I do find it occasionly boring and full of TKers. Is the second SOCOM still played heavly online? If you could, can you tell me how many users are on at your time of post and just generally describe the differences.

First, welcome to our site. Hope you enjoy your saty with us. Now to the subject at hand.

I find it to still be played quite a lot. Usually when I log on I see around 6000-7000 people online. The main difference I find in the game is the speed at which it's played. 2 has much faster play. Games in 3 can take hours due to campers. I also find the maps to have much more character.

2 is my game of choice, but I do play 3 from time to time.

Socom 2's community has decreased since 3 came out, but it has benifited from this. There are still at least 4000 people on at any time, and more at peak times. Socom 2 is a fast run and gun 'em game. There are a few dominant weapons but for the most part its ok. There is not a lot of camping, the maps are smaller (just watch out for grenades when you spawn). One person can easily lead your team in 2 but not the case in3. The bottom line is socom 2 is fun no matter what room you go into, where as s3 is only fun if you play with your clan or friends.

Very true Cylon. I can indeed....... I mean, someone can. Yeah, that's the one. In 2 you can see who leads teams and who follows. I enjoy seeing one person pull ahead with like a 16-4 score as opposed to everyone having 5-5. It really shows who knows their weapons/maps. Back in the day, my clan had smome insane members. TheGhost808, Cylon, NightmareXcX, Cloud0609, ThaTrueWOP and myself. ($ilent $niper.) When we were all together, all we saw were victories. It was great. You remember those days Cylon? They were awesome.
