Should Socom 2 rules apply to Socom 3
Socom 2 rules have made the game very fun and actually difficult. No 203's have forced the people to win with skill, not luck, but now in socom 3 i have seen the most grenade launchers i have ever seen in my friggen life. It causes the game to be very unfair towards the terrorists due to the fact that the SEALs have the airbursts. It aleinates the true skill that exists in a "tactical shooter" such as this one. rocket launchers are fine but the grenade launcher attachments annoy me greatly. I understand the need to eliminate tanks, but do not see the point of blowing people up with 203 frag. People need to learn the skill of chucking nades and actually shooting with a rifle, not a grenade attachment. All grenade attachments should be banned from clan matches unless both both agree to them. I just got pissed cuz a clan busted out the airbursts and won 6-5 in atendora seals.

I do agree that M203 and Airburst do at times piss people off. But zipper is trying best to make the game realistic as possible, and in real life people use M203s and Airburst... and as much as it angers you i dont think zipper is gonna change it. If u like you can join or make a room that has no explosives which will eliminate M203 and Airburst.

Well said...I believe there is a time to use the m203 and a time where it makes you look like a ****. For example if I'm right in front of you and the guy is blasting at you with his damn 203. In the end he ends up commiting suicide and taking you with him!!!

what people havent foudn out yet is how much better the m203 is over the airburst. the only thign the airburst have over the gl or 2o3 is ammo and speed of fire. but the 203/gl has so much more POWER. def use the 203he to blow a tank up.

i am fine wiht being killed by any weapon unless it is a gl within a 16 meter radius of the guy im trying to kill, and i will let his *** have it if im within 10 of a gl.

You really cant do anything about it. They are scared to go out and find a kill and they dont want to die. So they all camp with explosives. I find rushing your whole team quickly in like demolition and suppression takes care of them though.

There were no "Rules" for Socom 2. Just an understanding between players to make the game more enjoyable.

If you really dislike the 203s and airbursts so much, go back to Socom 2. Otherwise, just deal with it.

Socom 3 is still an early game with lots of new players.

In time people will once again be voted for 203's, more rooms without 203's etc. etc.

It is very easy to make a ranked room without grenade launchers or any form of weapon... you can greatly customize your room so in time it wont be as much of a problem.

If you think about it s3 is actually more fair because both sides have gl's on any map type at any time... but still i dont use them hardly unless the whole other team is using them.

I agree though.. I ended s2 at around 5000 on ladder with 3000 more kills than deaths and i used the 203 (no joke) 3 times in my whole career and i am ranked around 2000 on s3 (****) and i have not used it all.

I am in no way saying i am god at s3 - i can get owned as easy as the next guy but it does piss me off when i earn my 4 stars with skill and then some shmuck hits r1 with his aim recticle 4 feet off me and still gets the kill.

One could argue that using a GL requires just a tad bit of skill, especially when your target is at long range. Knowing the proper trajectory is necessary in being effective with it. Additionally, a GL can often get you and your teammates blown the hell up.

On the receiving end of a GL it's an easy enough weapon to counter if you know what you're doing. I've noticed the blast radius on an HE or M67 GL is slightly less than their hand thrown counterparts. Additionally, the airburst has a very small blast radius when compared to any other explosive. From mid to long range they are easily countered. At close range you need to either eliminate them before they fire, hope that they misfire and commit suicide, or take them with you. Best suggestion is to not be so quick to rush.

With that said, I seldom use them except in the following situations:
-Respawn: It's just fun to blow sh1t up, and in here it doesn't matter.
-A whole team of camping snipers (Terr on Harvester small): I have no love for snipers, and when your whole team is doing it I will resort to a GL after a few rounds of sniper bukaki camp fests.
-The other team begins using them: When without provocation 2-3 members of an opposed team start using them, I will use one as well.

If you don't like them, look for rooms without ranged explosives, or make your own.
