Machine Guns

What do you think about the machine guns in socom 2 (m60-e3/m63). Do you use them often, rarely? Do you think they're 'noob cannons'? I rarely see people use them in rooms so i thought i'd make a thread to see why.

I use the m63 sometimes and no there not a noob cannon.

I use the M60 as my backup. I don't consider it nooby, but if I can't kill a fly with all of my regular favourite guns, I'll take the '60 for a whirl. It is very good when used properly and with the right tactics, however. For example, on FH, if one terrorist prones with an M60 on top of the boat house and aims down the left tunnel, he can lay down a stream of death on anyone who comes in there. This is one of my favourite M60 spots in the game, but there are many others if you can find them. Another use for M60s is when a terorist is camping the hostage room in DG, I find it works fairly good to have someone prone a '60 on one of the middle building balconies and lay waste to that tiny hallway. Then, as other players try to snipe in at the camper, he'll get lit up when he pops out.

I don't think they are n00b cannons, but rather newb cannons. Whenever I let my new friends play, I usually give them the m60 so that they don't have to worry about reloading too much. Most people who have played the game for more than a few weeks are using assault rifles, but I used the m60 for my first gun lol. Also its freaking fun to get everyone in a no bombs FF respawn to front line all over the place!

m60-e3: i am actually crap as i just got the game online yesterday but have had it for ages. IT has a smaller clip, but higher fire rate and im pretty sure higher accuracy. Perhaps im gettign them mixed . I like machine gunz cause its not like theyre terribly inaccurate, they r usable and the fire rate is same as the M4 but the clip is good 4 me cuz its so massive

People call these guns cheap because they have such a large clip size. You usually use a weapon that has a clip size of 30. These guns have 3x that much, which usually means that if you were to get into a fire fight with these guns, you'd end up having to reload way before they would. I don't really care, I find that these guns can be valuable in some situations, and in others they aren't. To me there is no n00b cannon, just a gun. Personally I prefer the M63A's fast fire rate to the M60's stopping power.

wow i dont even remember the last time i used any of those guns lol...but i never used the m63A

I use the machine guns all the time when i dont feel like messing around with a sniper rifle. I love the 63A and alot of people whine to me cause i killed them with it from acoss the map using my binoculars.

I use the M60 to lay a curtain of fire. Just hit the deck and spray away. It becomes really accrate once you prone. Very useful. Although its not my favourite gun i do use it.

i love the m60oe3 to death. that is almost all i use when im a terrorrist on fish hook. i play that a lot. i always get mvps with it to. like he said if u prone it is very accurate.
