How could it be for profile use? It does not say male or female in...where is this profile you speak of anyway? It might be for Sony's marketing purposes. Maybe they want to know where their general interest in the game is coming from.

prob is for voice mod. they had a really old article pre socom 2 days about this "new feature" and they said something along the lines of this.

Well please sir search and find this "article" you so speak of. If you look where you log your name in there is at the bottom where password is a place to pick MALE or FEMALE. This is so they know whos playing. Voice mods sound the same trust me. I play with a good bit of women from 2 of our "brother" clans and they all sound the same with voice mod on no diferent.all think WAYYYYYY too much.
