Cheap headets!?
my headsets keep breaking for no apparent reason. I never throw them or drop them....they just break....the speech is always the first thing to go for no reason. Do the wires like decay or something?

I've lost two, and I don't throw them. One of them I stepped on by accident, and the other just sort of died. I could talk but not hear, which is really dumb. I didn't take it apart, but I had a feeling something happened with the wires. Nothing I could do about it though, i just bought a new one.

Don't go for cheap headsets. I saw on a thread to buy the logitech one, get the warranty and you just trade it in or something like that.

And how do you guys lose/break headsets, lol. ALWAYS pick it up and put it on top of something.

haha I still have my original socom 1 headset and it works fine! I have a new logitech just because it was a birthday present, but I could have used my first just as easy, granted that the little fuzzy thing did rip off, but thats the only change.

My new one is going to be kept like a baby. Im going to fold up it's cord everynight and put it in a tupper ware box.

Two things:
1. When you wear it, don't let the mute button hang and swing around. This causes wear and tear on the wires inside near the ear piece. Use the clip and clip it to your shirt to relieve the stress on the ear piece.

2. Be careful when you wrap it up after play. The best way is to wrap in a loose circle. DO NOT wrap it tightly around the headset itself! DON'T wrap it tightly around anything! DO NOT fold it up with tight bends in it.

Remember, the cord on this thing is a couple of 22 gauge twisted copper wires with only a thin plastic coating to protect it. Too much bending or movement will eventually fray and cause you these problems.

Yes wrapping the wires tightly together put strain on the headsets wires inside. Keep it lose and handle it with care, and itll last you a while.
