The ignorance and piss-poor attitude of avg. socom players.

Wow i just had this problem. I was playing against the K4H clan on Crossroads, I was Crossroads Terrorists, and they where SEALs. I went 15-3 with an M16 and all they could say afterwards was "****ing M16 glitcher" or "lagging sonuvabitch" or my personal favorite "M16 newbie". I mean seriously. The last one speaks for itself.

In my opinion, there is nothing worse than the combination of a great player and one who consistently has lag in their favor. It is usually not any fun. There are always those who go like 15-2 in a round because they're good AND they don't die that easy. Maybe if they weren't lagging so much they would have went like 12-6. Point being, if you're good and you have a fairly consisent "lag" going most of the time, don't expect many to bow to your mightyness. It's much more annoying than it is an opportunity to say "hey you're really good!"

At least thats how I see it.

Well you do lag SOME OTTER but you are pretty good so it evens out. Like i tell everyone..WE HAVE ALL had those days/games where we were unstoppable!!! I mean you know you are being shot the hell up yet you are able to turn around and kill the guy,etc. It happens...ITS SOCOM FOR CHRIST SAKES!!! But only time the lag pisses me off to the point of saying something in the lobby is when the person laggin (i mean visibly noticeable to more than myself like the whole team) is when the lagger brags in the lobby of owning people...when you brag like this you are setting yourself up to be accused of lagging,etc. I say let your game speak for yourself. I NEVER, EVER say anything after good games, bad games, etc. If i do great then fine, if not i'll live...its a game in the end. I may mess around with some friends if they were on the other side but thats all in good fun but youd NEVER hear Lu say "ohhh i owned you noobs" to the other team when i go off. Im alot more mature than that, i dont need to go 19-4 in a game to feel like a man

Once again THIS IS SOCOM people...there is lag and yes some people do take advantage of it but deal with it...say your peace after you die from a lagger and move on...no need to dwell on shyt you nor they(hopefully) cant help.

same could happen with players. you send all those wonderful shots and your enemy starts spraying blood out like candies comming outof a broken piñata, but it just happens that sometimes, those blood-tastic shots happen to be placed either on the edges of your enemy, or, in the limbs and as my experience with Bee i peees, the shots just dont happen to work. plain and simple.

I have also found that the line between a a great legit player and a glithcer is very fine. (through the eyes of the player being beaten) why?

example 1.

The player gets killed by a silenced weapon, and has no idea where he was killed from. He has two assumptions, he's good or the usual assumption due to human nature, he glitched.

example 2.

The player gets killed by a spectacular sniper shot that player thought was impossible. (eg. xroads, redroom switch window shot. thought by many to be a glitch) SO by the usual nature of many Socom players, the sniper isnt good, he glitched to get the shot in.

So see the fine line between the good legit player and the glitcher. Because its too bad because good players dont get the respect they deserve

Unless you see the guy running in place and/or skipping 5 ft all over the place, he isn't lagging, you died fair and square, so STFU and get over it.

I can't stand people who blame all their deaths on lag, there are tons of amazing socom players out there. Realize them and give them props. Instead of freaking out at them, say "damn Otter, you had a great game man".

I'll use me as an example...last night in an FU room (this whole post is not, in any way shape or form directed solely towards [FU]) I came in, it was crossroads 6^6 I think, maybe a 7^7. I start doing good, getting lots of kills and stuff, on my screen the entire game, no lag at all thanks to a good host. PUNX, in mid game says, "guys, Otter isn't lagging, he's a good player." That's coming from PUNX! Anyway I go in the lobby and get:

"damn canadian laggers"
"friggin knuck lags"

etc etc. I know they were joking, but I get it all the time. People need to open their eyes and just say, ok...that guy is better than me. Or, ok, he got me, I'll devise a new plan and get him next time. Instead of freaking out over lag.

In the end of a game, say "gg" to the other team, give them compliments, congratulate them on a victory/loss. It makes socom much much more enjoyable to play. You make more buddies this way too...

I once had a good friend tell me this: "Otter, I hate to break it to you, but you're only good because you lag." That is by far the biggest BS I've ever heard in my life. Nobody is simply good because they lag. Maybe some HARDCORE laggers who lag EVERY MINUTE of EVERY game. I don't. I do have skills, I am a good player, get over it, I don't lag half as bad as I'm accused of.

I'm sorry for rambling...the point is: Some socom players are just really good, they don't lag terribly, they aren't "MajicSwitching" or pulling their cord every chance they get. They are just TALENTED. Please learn that word. Talent, some players actually have it guys!

I just realized, i never see any lag in s3 rooms........
