i need help fast please

ok my question is this,i just got dsl right,and im triyng to get online to play socom but every time i get on it says that my network cable is disconnected,can u guys help me solve this problem please?and yes i've tryed alot of times but that messege just keep popping out,i've cheked my network adapter too and is fine because i've played in my cousings house.

I used to get that message alot when I would hook it up stait to the modem but now that I have a router it never gives me that bad message. But you got to tell us whats your situation over there and how you have got things hooked up. And what kind of cable do you have like a cat 5.

yes i have a cat 5 cable but i don't have a router im just triyng to connect right to the modem,or i can't do that.i got the cat cable plugged to the modem though the ps2 and the phone cord to the modem then the power cord to the modem.if i got it wrong please tell me how to do it right i apreaciated verry much.

Are all the lights on, on the modem except the Ethernet?

the power is on of course and the broadband to but the one that says local network is of.

Well I still do get that message now and then but I just go under the desk and press really hard on the cable to make sure its really in the slot and then it works after that.

Well since you dont have a router maybe it is that you dont reset your modem after your done using your computer. Procedure to reset your network equipment:
Turn off your PS2, your Broadband (Cable/DSL) modem, your router (if you have one)
Turn on your modem, and wait until the lights settle to their normal operating positions. If you don't know what this looks like, just wait 60 seconds.
Turn on your router, and wait about 30 seconds for it to start up and do it's POST.
Turn on your PS2 and run the start up disk.

That 'disconnected message' comes up allot, keep trying again, eventually you'll get online.

ok since i got it today about 11:00 am a've tryed like 100 times (not kidding)and it just keep poppin out.I'm desperate.
