i'm tweleve years old and my parents got me SOCOM for christmas. they let me and my bro play socom just not any ultra violent or sexual games like grand theft auto or hitman. i mean when you shoot a guy in the head on socom the just die they don't blow up and demons crawl out of its blood spurring head.

I don't think I've ever been in a game where someone wasn't talking about sex or calling eachother the nastiest words they could think of. Not to mention the taunts.

What's worse (in my opinion) is that I see alot of children on after midnight central. What ever happened to having a curfew? Some of these kids are as young as 8. I just think it's sad and wondered if any of you had any opionions on this. After all, the game is rated "mature" and I think it's extremely bad parenting. There was a kid on yesterday who I'd LOVE to have his home number so I could call his mother and let her know some of the things he said.
I think you hit the nail on the head. My clan leader's girlfriend lets her son play Socom, but only a limited time, and only without a mic. She only trusts him with a mic when he's playing just with our clan, as she knows us well. On the other hand, I have no problem playing with children for the most part, if they're decent kids.
yeah i get a limited time too. but my parents still let me play with a mic. im allowed to play socom and i'm tweleve but still like i said they still don't let me play like GTA or hitman because of the ULTRA violent or sexual gameplay.

may i throw my hat into this one? I can care less about little kids online, as long as they aren't tying up the mic so that you can't call 4 backup or give out enemy postions. If they play, they should respect their elders by at least acting as sniper bait. I can respect an 8 yr old that works to the team objectives and gives decent support. Players that whine bout weapons get to me more.

I dont think that all "kids" do some of the things that people are saying they do. I am a "kid" myself I am 12 years old and i dont do many of the things people think that "kids" do. First off i have good parents that care. and yes i have a cerfue and dont stay up untill midnight. And i hardly ever swear. I may say Damn, and Crap and stuff like that but i wouldent even call that swearing. I hardly ever say anything unless im talking to people about stratigy so i dont "tie up the mics". i also think that kids dont have like emotional break downs if you swear at them, well at least i dont. So i dont think all the things you are saying are true about all "kids". just give some of them a little more credit.

Off topic - hahaha sounds like a good idea to me, I'd get killed less.

On topic - I really dont care about who plays the game, but like most, I dont like it when anybody starts talking **** and tying up the mic. Example: I was in a FH game today and someone on my team tk'd another teammate, and for the rest of the game (6 more rounds i think) all that was heard over the mic was those two going at it.

I personally don't mind. In fact, I'm 12. Sure our voices can be annoying, and some of us are complete morons but the rest of us know what they are doing, like me.
One more thing, don't vote us out just because we're a kid. I didn't know people has young has eight play this game though. Ahh well.

On that note, if you see Seintoloi online: please don't kick him. I'm sick of morons who kick for no reason and I don't use a mic or own a mic, I just use the taunts and usually I'm a silent player.
However, I do stick with the team. I get the mission filled out. If I die, I just sit back and wait two minutes: it's that simple.
You will see me on Battlefield2 in a year, with the name "Seinitoloi". I play the game Battlefield2 of course, I just don't use a mic to have folks who have some common stereotype about us.
On that note, I believe it was rated M for gore.

Actually it was rated M for online content and offline. I would say more so for ONLINE since a mic is invloved and yalls lil virgin ears could hear stuff thats "bad" :P Also if you read through the posts most adults liek myself have nothign against kids actually playing, its they yahoos that act like they were raised in barns who we loathe.... -Lu

No **** floyd, but the fact is it still counts for the ENTIRE GAME. Game experience means you may not be as good as you are offline. Fool.

**** the kids... What have they done for me in Socom? NOTHING.. they're worthless and their parents shouldn't have bought it for them to begin with. By 'em a game cube or something.

Their voices give me a major hard 0n to kill 'em. GET OFF SOCOM, PLEASE!!!
