Connection failure. Press X to return to the Main Menu
yTF do I keep getting this message when I switch my modem from my computer to my ps2. This is the main reason why I need a router, but can't get one b/c it'll lag(and can't afford anyways)
Is there anyway that I can get online w/out having to see this message so many times?

When you switch from your comp to your PS2, unplug your modem to reset it. Make sure all the lights come on the same way, then turn on your PS2 and try logging on. It should work, if not, spend the $40 dollars on a router. I have a Linksys 4 port router, and I can be on the internet and Socom and still not lag. Good Luck.

Reset the modem for 30 seconds, put in your online setup disc (that you get with the adapter), delete the current setting, make a new one with the automatic configuration, test settings, and your good to go.

I always reset my modem since I have to take it downstairs to the ps2. I've tried deleting and re-doing the network instalation a lot of times before.

You have to restart your ps2 if it gets disconnected then it will most likely freeze

I had this exact same problem until couple days ago. You need to release your ip address. Go to run and type in cmd
, the command prompt should come up and then type in ipconfig/release and press enter. After this exit the command prompt and go connect the modem to the Network Adapter and you should connect on first try.

There it is incase anyone else has the same problem

Computer has nothing to do with it. Its only the modem.

What ISP do you have?
I have verizon DSL, and I get that message whenever I try to connect while my modem is down.
