Weird thing...not making this up

I've had the same SOCOM II disc for over a year now. I don't take great care of my games, but I am gentle with them nevertheless. The disc has alot of small, thin scratches like any other old game. It runs fine and has run fine since i purchased it. But starting two nights ago my disc has been acting funny. It runs perfectly like I said. But the other night, my clan was in a clan war and the next map was The Ruins. We green up the game forces. On the loading screen, the disc stops spinning and I'm like oh no I got disconnected. I wait, nothing happens. My game has froze. I turn it off, reboot. Get all the way back to the map loading screen, it freezes again. Do it again -after i cleaned it with that soft sun glass cleaner material- and same thing. So I just quit playing for that night. Then tonight I'm playing, I play for two hours everything is fine. Then I try to play The Ruins, and again it freezes. Why can't I play this one level? Am i just goiing to have to buy a new disc? Please help.

the ruins data on ur disk in destroyed, if u like ruins, buy a new disk

Heh, just yesterday I dropped my disc on the ground. I found some dirt on it and wiped it off. Apparantly it was some sticky substance which smeared and scarred the data side of the disc. Now, my music is corrupted and overlaps or often doesn't play. Sometimes, I am unable to see the round statistics every time. Also, I tried to make a room and my game froze. This could have been an unlucky fluke, but I haven't retried as of yet. I haven't found any maps that cannot be played, but if there is any serious damage to the online portion of the game I will find myself buying a new disc.

That's so gay. Why not Shadow Falls or Abandoned?

No, pick one of my favorite levels to **** up. Does anyone know any good ways to clean discs tho? Like without buying stuff? Any help would be appreciated.

If the data side of the disc is scarred there is nothing you can do. Cleaners is to wipe away smudges and dirt on your disk. Scratches, scars, or any other permanent damage to the disk prevents the game from reading properly. You will need a new disc from the sounds of it, as I probably do aswell.

myne has been doing the same thing, just with foxhunt....good thing i never play that map. but i also have a spare disc incase i need it for a clan war or anything.

Well, you have to go buy a new game if you like ruins. If you go to EB Games, they offer a deal to garentee the game or somthing like that; you pay some extra money, and they give you a ticket thats good for a year, and if they game breaks, take the ticket and the game back to the store and they give you a new one.

yeh im a victim too...only when vigilence ends...the final totals screen freezes there....like im waitig to go back to lobby fer next game but it never comes....but sumtimes it takes me back...so i dunno...
