I officially quit socom. the lag is absurd. I cant got a night without running into it. 5 out of 5 maps last night were terrible. I was forced to abort in 2 of them.Im connected directly to the modem and still obtained a 1600-1150 kill to death ratio in 65 hours. Geez if I lagged it would amazing. So long suckers.

Good riddance, just because you'r e a fool for playing in the same server/game or a game with full amount of people, and laggy maps, doesn't make us suckers....

Try playing in rooms with minimum of 10 people, or try logging onto INTL, or try seeing if its YOU lagging bud.

I dont lag, like i said im directly connected to the modem, no computer, no one else, NOTHING else is taking the line. I dont run on routers and have 3 other buddies playing with me at the same time while Instant messaging another for a war on the computer. Ive never been told i Lagged either. You think I dont know that maps like Bitter Jungle are laggy? You are silly, I know socom. Id OWN if i lagged.

Ok help me out here guys. (If you can)

I play out of the caribbean, west-indies.
I tested my speed and it said it's 20 kbs, that's upload.
(I just read the other posts, so that might be low?)
When I play, it sometimes goes great, but I have days/nights that every single room I go into, I freeze up (lag?) after a couple of rounds.

Now my question is, what maps are best to play and less chance to lag?
I go into rooms with less then 100 people, most of the times when I get lag, it turns out that room filled up to over 200 people.

Speed is different from ping. You may be sending 20 kbps but if every packet is arriving 2 seconds after you sent it, that means your lagging even tho your sending that much info. PC games ping is usually 100-200 millaseconds, about 1/10 or 1/5 of a second, Socoms averages 500 or 1/2 second. As for choosing rooms without lag, its all about the number of guys in the actual game. If you find lag to be a big problem try finding rooms with 12 max players or even 10, instead of the normal 16.

BTW How do you like it down there? My girlfriend and I talk all the time about going to the Caribbean and becoming scuba instructors :)

Thanks, last night was just terrible for me. Could stay in a game for 10 seconds and got lagged out
I just went to find rooms with less then 100 people and then try to find missions with less then 6 people in it, that worked fine.

Well a lot clear blue water down here to dive my friend. I am in the southern caribbean.
