Connection Problems/Issues

Hi people, i got Socom 2 on sunday and want to go online, but when i try to get online it says disconnected from network. I dont know why this is.
I am using ICS and can get on other games, including killzone what is a Sony game also. I have disabled my firewall and it doesnt make no difference. My friend is on ICS and he can connect so i dunno why i cant. We also us the same provider, AOL.
Please help me. !!!

I am writing this for my son. Ever since he downloaded a patch for his Socom2 many months ago he has not been able to log on. We have bought him a new memory card, a HDD, a new Socom2 game. None of this has worked.
He has many other online games and they all work except for Socom2 very frustrating considering he had the game only a month before it stopped working. I call the company and it is nothing but check the firewalls on the router, ect , ect, all the same old answers to things we know for a fact is not the problem. We feel really ripped off.!

I have been okay with connecting online up until today. All of a sudden my game is saying that my username is already in use by another player. Could someone tell me why this is happening?

Dude, mine has been doing that since last night...even if i do try to create a new username, it tells me it is already in use even though I've tried everything up to and including my social security number. Now if someone is using my social then I really have some problems with socom...but I know that can't be. I got bounced last night after being on for about 15 minutes waiting for some buddies of mine to finish a war and couldn't get on for 2 hours then or after an hour of trying today. It's pretty frustrating when it tells you that you're username is already logged on when you know for a fact it's not.

Someone help please!

This does happen but it normally clears up after reseting my ps2. Hmm, im not sure.

i tried to sign on Socom 2 at my GF house and it comes up with some Dnas Error 612, any1 know whats wrong?

uhhh, u may have a game chark or some cheating thing...or a mod. chip (a chip that allows ur PS2 to read burned dics). if u have a cheating thing, then unplug it and try again, and if u have a mod. chip, then put the game in, turn off the PS2, turn it on, and hold the reset button until the blue light comes on...........dont ask me how i no that

yes i did to it said to me that my cable has be dicnected so what i do now is i press online thin count to 5 thin press connect bec it if you press it right when you get there it does not do it right so if you count to 5 thin press it it well work bec it has to find your connection.

i tried getting online with socom 2, but i can't pass the authenticating DNAS data screen. while attempting, a screen pops up saying "Connection Failed. Press X to return to main menu." and nothing else; no error code. i tried reconfiguring the network settigns and passed the connection test. Help me Please!

Try reseting everything (router, modem, etc.) If your modem has a reset button on the back of it, hit that too. Make sure all of your cables are plugged in and are secure. Make your your modem is not on stand by and then try conneting at least three more times. It should only take one or two but may rarely take three trys.
