Marketing ploy? They never said there would be socom content at launch, right? Sounds to me like the "gossip" got the best of your friend - and you.

All of you were too eager to play some new stuff on socom and didn't wait to see if the HDD was really worth it. Now you realize that there is nothing out a couple days after it was released. You should have seen this coming, i mean, its not like you looked around for a release date on new content and waited. Now your stuck with a FF game that you won't play, and a hard drive that is not even useful to you yet. Why are you all soo suprised? The only thing you can do now is wait, so just keep playing the same maps using the same skins, and enjoy it for a little longer!

i agree, for now i will keep enjoying the levels i have, but it is good to know that as soon as new stuff comes out, i will be one of the first to play it cuz i have the hdd. And what does it hurt just to have it, i transfered all info off my memory cards to my hdd and now i wait for new content. Of course i hope it comes out sooner but what ever i will just wait.

I'm with you Tyshooter...I freed up alot of space on my memory cards now by transfering the files to my HDD. I am constantly checking for updates when ever i get a chance. But its not that serious, like i said in a recent post. BE PATIENT. We are mostly adults here so lets just give them a few secs. to sort this shyt out. All in all, atleast i got my HDD to use as we speak cause of the ability that you create folders on it and store info on it. peACE.

Notice the paragraph right above the picture of the HDD.

"As we have already announced, there are several first-party titles that will take advantage of the HDD with downloadable content in the future, such as SOCOM II: U.S. Navy SEALs and Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain," SCEA added.

Did you happen to notice - "in the future"?
Nothing was ever said about there being any SOCOMII content available when you first get it. Only about the FF.

Maybe if everyone would actually look into products before they spend their money on them, they wouldn't look like such a Jack-*** when they start complaining about wasting their money on it.
I haven't seen anything at all listing a specific date on any updates for SOCOM.

hdd still needs memory card???
I thought that once i moved the files from my memory card to my HDD that the memory card would just serve as a backup file in case that somthing got erased. Yet when i play socom, it still need s the memory card. Am i doing somthing wrong or what? Also one more note. I was told that my loading times would be decreased w/ the HDD and that doesnt seem to be happening either. Anyone know anything about that??

You people dont get it... no one ever said that the hdd will have new maps right when you get teh hard drive

Zipper said they are working on downloadbale content.. which i believe will not come out in weeks it will be months... most likly around fall or even as late as christams.. all these extra maps and guns and that it will be available on teh release date is pure bs... those are just rumors started by people who hoped it would be true
