Playstation is abandoning the HDD...you will get these three maps from socom and final fantasy uses it...thats about it...congrats on your purchase

That's because it DIDN'T come in the new issue of PSM magazine... OPM magazine is the one with the monthly demo disc. Trust me, I subscribe to both magazines.

i hate that... When i first put in my HDD i was like, "O yea, faster download, new maps, im good to go..." Then you get to that screen... WTF!!!!! This is ridiculous.... forever loading times."
If you ask me, i think it was a waste of money... but. :(

No, FFXI is the bomb, it's not a waste of money. If you don't have the patience for loading times, then you shouldn't even be playing video games, if you ask me.

I was going to buy a hdd tomorrow but then i read this thread...and you have to have a disc to get the new maps and characters?
This is bull excreets!
Pay $100 for the hdd then you also had to have had a magazine subsciption to get this disc...This is the biggest piece of crap Iv'e heard in the past 2 months!
 Or do they have a website or something now to download the stuff off of now?
