Now...I see a bunch of people saying that they are getting theirs for $80 or even $90....how?

How will a search help?

You gotta be kidding. U.S.Heartagram,the reason he posted a search is because:

1.The question you have has already been asked and answered on this forum.

2.Sticky threads are good info but some people that may be able to answer you overlook them because they're always up there.

3.The helpful people always on here see the same questions over and over by new users and it just gets old.

You got off light with a link to a search,most times ...someone that wants to up thier post count will say "use the search button you dumb noob!"

Now,on to your question...if I can remember what it was,lol.

Ok...how to download the new maps...

The sony servers do not provide these maps if thats what you were thinking,maybe someday they will provide new maps but for now you have to download them from the discs that come in the Offical Playstation Magazine.There are 3 months that they were released in and I'm not positive but I think they were December,January,and February.I've also heard that the next or current issue will have all 3 maps on the disc.

Once you get the disc just stick it in the playstation and you should be able to figure it out from there.

Just got PSM CD#90 And it has all three maps on it !!!!! Now all I need is a HDD.................

Someone explain me what this HHD is?
Do you have to buy it (if so, where), do you get it with magazine?

Here's the answer to your question, jokerpoker... the HDD (not HHD) is the internal PS2 hard disc drive, which is similar to the one found in your PC. It stores the new SOCOM 2 maps (three in total) in there for you to use while playing the game online.

It also enables you to boot up some of your online PS2 games directly from the HDD screen, once it is highlighted and selected from the PS2's browser screen. I can tell you for sure that this method works with SOCOM 2 and Resident Evil: Outbreak...

Only with Final Fantasy. Is now being discontinued cause its not compatable with the new slim PS2. A new "big" memory card is being made to be compatable. Try google to find yor info....lazy.

Has anyone noticed that it takes longer for the game to load when you just turn it on after buying/installing the HDD. It says that its searching the HDD for downloadable contenet or something but it tkaes a while doesnt it?
