Online ranking system... raves/gripes

That is so true about the hours and ratios. No one is good enought to have a 14000 kill to 1200 death ratio. CRAZY

I have to think the two things that have the most influence on your rank are the objectives (bonus and primary ) and winning the maps in the largest fashion possible!

I think its a little better lately since the rank^ has sorta died down but they still need to do something

On my old player, I had 100 Kills and 140 deaths and about 75 headshots. But I was still an ensign. Then, I created a new player, and after a few games I only had 4 kills and 16 deaths but I was Lieutenant! And after a while of improving my score, I played DG map and was 7-3 and got 64 points along with MVP. But when I checked my rank I dropped 200,000 and was dropped to Ensign??? After a few good games in an ensign server I got my rank up to lieutenant again, and moved up about 300,000 places. I don't really like the ranking system because I'm never sure if I'm improving and I worry about my rank too much and just can't have fun.

Edit: Socom2 should have moderators who constantly check if there is any r^ rooms anywhere and deal with it accordingly. Also, there should be admins like in CS.

i started a new Name On Socom and my rank did not register as yet so i went to player ranking then i see the guy with rank #1 i went on him and i see his rating is like 434,674 and im sturggling to get my other name to 3000 hes at like 400,000 i wonder how do they do it

The ranking system is based on your player rating
you gain rating mostly by winning rounds
if you notice, the top players have like 10,000 rounds won and like 3,000 lost
you also gain rating by getting alot of head shots
I just recently noticed that you get a **** load of rating increase by killing VIPs on the terrorist side in escort missions, my rank went up 4000 on the mixer when I got MVP on terr.

It is REALLY easy to tell if someone is a rank up captain because they'll have a **** load of VIPs killed
I have 230 hrs of play and i've only killed like 63 VIPs

your rank is based on your rating
your rating goes up if you win more games than you lose, (ex. your rank goes up more if you sweep a game than if it is 6-5
killing VIPs raises your rank (this is why there are rank up whores)
