Online ranking system... raves/gripes

I'll post once in this topic with my feelings. It should be deleted. There should b no ranks, everyone should just play. People worry too much about their rank and make r^ rooms, and try to find glitches. People with bad stats are ranked ahead of better people, and that's not right. There isn't any way to fix it, so just scrap it.

I agree. Ranks don't mean a damn thing. I think that people that have really served in the military should be able to put their rank, but not kids (no offense to the adults, just a generalization) who haven't earned jack in their life. It hurts my stomach to see 14 year olds with their fake wings boss me around because they managed to make Captain in SOCOM life. It takes over 20 years of service to reach the rank of Captain/Colonel... not a year or less of glitching and doing other crap.

So my general opinion is to have Avatars replace rank.

That would be pretty sweet, but may make it laggy having to keep track of all the images. I do kind of wish they had avatars though, even if it was laggy. THat way you could tell all the idiost because you know they would have dumb avatars.

The SocomII ranking system is very tricky, like donuts. You can have a powdered donut, but whats inside of it? Boston Creme? Jelly? Nothing? You'll never know what your gonna get out of that donut! Its the same with the rank system! One day, like a couple months ago, I decide to play Socom. While I'm playing those nasty little glitchers came out to play to. I aborted the two games that those glitchers where in and my rank dropped down from a Lt. Commander to a Lt. No big deal, I dont really care. I go play again, and I play a bunch of regular games, and I aborted maybe 6 out of 10 games and my numbers are... still the same? Now how can that be??? I just aborted 2 games, got demoted, and then I just aborted 5 maybe 6 games and my numbers stay the same? Dont get me wrong I was greatful that my rank didnt go down, its just tricky like the powdered donut. Then I go into another game, and encountered some of those people weve all grown to know and hate: glitchers. I ignored em for a little but they got out of hand so I abort 1 game, and... my rank goes down from a Lt. to an Ensign? See what kind of surprizes the ranking system has in store for you? It didnt take long to get my rank up, now Im a Lt. Commander again, but you just never know whats gonna happen to you! People win MVPs and their rank goes up, or it may go down. People abort and their rank may stay the same, or go down. Its just like that powdered donut. You will NEVER know whats coming for you.

Will someone please help me with this? When I was playing earlier I went in as a Lt. and when I came out I was an Ensign. In that game I went 11-5, so I don't understand why my rank went down. And when I went to look at my latter position it went from in the 600,000 to the 700,000. I don't understand. Help anyone. I lost the passowrd to my old name so that's why I made a new one. I'm not one of those ****** Lt.'s.

In no way am I bragging but how do I have 10,000 kills-6000 deaths and only be ranked in the 6000's? That's 4000 more kills than deaths. The best thing though is the guy above me in rank...0 kills-231 deaths. Do the DNAS guys not see these things?

Well the answer is somple, obvious, and you probably know already. Rank-up. And to Red Cell, a lot of it depends on, how many round you win, the opponents rank, and all that good stuff, dont worry about it.

I think that the addition of some real easy kill fire power is the reason for theses noobs getting lt or commander tha I dub is an example and tha guns with gernades lanchers attach and the addition of some lvls with great advanteges for terroists or seals example fish hook and frostfire theses reason are only a few promblems of socom online[img][/img]

Rank in socom only really depends on your teams ability to win now, kill/death doesnt have much to do with it. Of course a good kill/death ratio usually means your winning, but that doesnt mean you had a good team.
