If you have a socom1 mic or a talk.net mic just toss that motha fuka in the trash and go out and buy a new logitech mic. Those two mics are the trash that came out of a trailer park red neck person's arse. peace out

Hey Burton, does the headset work without the router? Did you follow my directions on setting it up? What exactly is the problem and what kind of linksys it is?

If your mic is working occassionally, then you propably need a new one. Get a logitech mic and download the latest firmware for your modem too. I had problems with my westell modem and downloaded the firmware and everything is cool.

demise...question about my netgear router...

you mention in a post re: linksys routers to set the port forwarding and use an arbitrarily high number as the ps2's ip address for both the network config and the router port forwarding config.

the thing with my setup though is that comcast has dynamic ip addressing so it's changing the ip addresses on things connecting to it. can i still follow your directions or is it different because of the dynamic ip addressing.

If you followed my directions from above this page, then you should be good to go. Download latest firmware and make sure all the cables are connected right. Hit the reset button on the modem and the router see if that maybe helps. If you got cable internet it could be little different from mine, cause I got dsl. Set up ps2 on manual settings like i said before, mess with it. Good luck. At least you can play without the router, you just switch the cable.

arghhhhhhhh

:( The old headset has a very bad wire connection to the box. When byuin a new headset dont get the logi-tech one with a black box. most problems are when the wires inside the box come loose. if u are having problems w/ headset and dont think it;s your ps2 or router/modem/firewall etc.. ty to see if another one works and/or call logitech, i got a head set that i could talk through but could hear and logitech replased it
