problem with mine is that SOMETIMES it works online, but always offline. So i know that the mic's not defective, but its only worked 4 times online, and that was only for a round or two. I dont know how to fix it, and i dont want to keep signing on and off Socom Online just cause my mic isnt workin...

hey, im it says on my router's manufacturer's website that you have to have DHCP disabled to open ports, but I have to enable my DHCP to play on my ps2. can anyone tell me if this might be affecting why or why not I can't use my mic? Also, if it is, is there a way I can get around this?

Netgear Router (802.11g), Comcast and Mic problems.
Hi I've got a netgear 802.11g wireless router. Attached to my ps2 is a linksys 802.11g wireless game adapter.

I've tried the Netgear website and from the previous posts on this message board it looks like the router's security is preventing me from using the mic online.

Here's the info that I know...
* my ISP (Comcast) uses dynamic IP addressing
* the only thing physically attached to the router is the PC, then there's a laptop in the house and my PS2 with the 802.11g wireless game adapter

How do I relax the security so that the mic can be used. Several things I've seen mentioned are setting up a DMZ or setting up the port forwarding. Both of these require a specific IP address. How do I handle this in my case, where my ISP (Comcast) has dynamic IP addressing?

Any help would be much appreciated.

hey guys, im new to the board. this seems weird to me because i have a linksys wireless reuter and a linksys wireless game adapter and it worked once i plugged it in! no instillation required! I even tried to install my reuter to my comp but it prevented me saying that it is already configured! i wonder why you guys have to put all those numbers in cause mine works fine without me doing anything. This stuff is weird....

How do you make it work if you have a Linksys NR041 router?

I followed the steps that Luck 7 said buT when I got to "Port Forwarding" there is no where to type in the port #. Plus mines just say "Forwarding" not "Port Forwarding".

Ya, thats the same router I have and I'm having problems too. I tried setting my PS2 as the DMZ host, but that didnt help. I think it has something to do with the DHCP server being enabled, but I dont know.
