I ve got problem with the router too,
I have a D link 500 G from singapure,
and i dont know how to Open the ports i found a tutorial but is not for mmy version. the interface off the router program is completelly diferent..

My router doesnt allow me to change ips and ports on it but i never have mic problems. the only problem i ever encounter is i can everyone on my team except for one person i dont know why but that happens sumtimes

I have socom and a headset (all new). I've tried on the normal game, i can hear and issue order (headset and cable is ok)
I tried online. (game without headset is ok - standard connection is ok)
I tried online WITH the headset connected.
While waiting to play only screen keybord shown up.
Inside the game and AFTER CHECKING if other players got headset (and some got). I try it right after the start.
As i press more than 1 second the "circle" i hear 3 beep and see an icon on the bottom right (near "end-countdown") changing from something forbiden to a mouth with waves.
As i release the "circle" again 3 beep and the icon back.
Dead or alive the same thing as long as i stay on my man.
That's all i have ever get and ever seen. Before firewall talks, can someone with successfull experience can tell me what i was supposed to see or get.
my mic works offline and it works online as well. when im in the briefing room, it works fine but its when i try talking during the game it wont let me. Ican hear everything going on but they cant hear me. the guys have told me to hold the O button , but all my guy does is jump when i hold down the O. It also appears that a little popup thing comes up in the lower corner . it shows as if im trying to talk but its X'ed out . TIA
Well clearly you have a controller set-up wich has the character jumping when u press circle, you can either look the controls up or change it to sure shot, if you cant find where to change the controller set-up, delete all your socom2 data, start up your ps2 and in New Game select the sure shot controls ( you will loose all you single player progress)
Ina small summary...are u guys telling me if i buy a router i have to go threw some steps to make the mic work...i mean..all i do is put it in the usb port..in the ps2 RIGHT
