I thought I would suggest a chat for the site, so players could get to know each other and communicate easier. Just my thoughts. I do like the site though I always find the people on here to be mature and helpful. Keep up the good work

For personal communication there is always private messages, and now the new profile visitor messages. With those it's very easy to hold off-topic conversations with members.
The idea of an on-site chat has been brought up a few times before, though I don't recall the specific reasons why we haven't brought it back. I'm sure Lib will chime in with that.
The thought scrolled through my mind after installing the Arcade....but thats about as far as it got.

Anyway Ill give you the low-down on why the chat is no more. There was far too much cussing and the language used in the chat was acceptable in the eyes of good ol Lib. Plus the fact that it was not moderated all that well....I think.
But mostly because of the language used did not reflect the image we all wanted the site to convey.
The Language in more then one way. Not just the cursing....but corny and childish things. When you get too much of that, it degrades the otherwise intelligent discussion that goes on in the forums. Plus, theres no real way to tell people specifically how to act in the chat room.
If a person visits this site for the first time...and goes in the chat room and sees "OMG, WOOT WOOT, THAT IS SO COOL". He'll be leaving immediately.. unless he's like 8 years old or something.
Then again, we could moderate chat more strictly. Maybe even make some of the regulars 'Chat Moderators'. Thats the only way I could see this working. Is if we had enough Chat Moderators.
Every time this is brought up, I say the same thing. If it was added to the forum, it would be great and I would definitely use it frequently. If not, it's not a big deal, and the forums will be just fine without it.
Although I was not here when there was a chat, I have been on some sites that do have it.. I like it but then again I have almost everyones aim, yahoo or msn accounts so I don't see a need for it.
But then again if socom is as good as it used to be then I could see it working with going in there and going "hey guys lets war". Or something like that and would keep our community close.

If you were wanting to make a chat but not let all the possible trouble makers in. You could always just give senior members and or mods access to it. That would probly be the easiest way to do it. Yes everybody wouldn't have access. But i don't think it would be anywhere near as hard to run either.

I like this idea but could you add invite only to that? So the senior members can join as they like then you can send an invite out? That could work if it even exists.

I like this site and only suggestion is for the user for sharing their views and problems while using this and get closer to all other users for solving their queries

Thats a really great idea. It would also make more people come to this site.
