PS3 Center :: The # 1 Center for Playstation 3 Gamers - PS3 Failure Rate Way Below Xbox 360 At 0.2%
360= destroyed.
"According to Chris Deering of Sony Computer Entertainment, the failure rate for the PS3 is extremely low at 0.2%, far below the Xbox 360."
"Xbox 360 on the other hand has been a nightmare in terms of failure rates with the rates up to around 33%. Microsoft spent $1.5 billion to extend the warranty of every Xbox 360 to 3 years and is trying to repair the problems as of this writing as they continue to do so."
360 failure rate is 165 times higher. Also, if the .2 is true, and if the 6,000,000 units sold according to Sony is true. Then that means only 12,000 PS3s are fault. Out of 6,000,000. If the 360 failure rate is true, and seriously, it is believable, then there are about 4 million 360s faulty out of about 12 million.
Just to show that the PS3 is well below the average failure rate for electronics. Ofcourse there are some faulty ones out there here and there, but is not due to design flaws. Also, just to show how much stress the PS3 can take, read this.
