PS3 failure rate rediculously high!!!

Just kidding.

PS3 Center :: The # 1 Center for Playstation 3 Gamers - PS3 Failure Rate Way Below Xbox 360 At 0.2%

360= destroyed.

"According to Chris Deering of Sony Computer Entertainment, the failure rate for the PS3 is extremely low at 0.2%, far below the Xbox 360."

"Xbox 360 on the other hand has been a nightmare in terms of failure rates with the rates up to around 33%. Microsoft spent $1.5 billion to extend the warranty of every Xbox 360 to 3 years and is trying to repair the problems as of this writing as they continue to do so."

360 failure rate is 165 times higher. Also, if the .2 is true, and if the 6,000,000 units sold according to Sony is true. Then that means only 12,000 PS3s are fault. Out of 6,000,000. If the 360 failure rate is true, and seriously, it is believable, then there are about 4 million 360s faulty out of about 12 million.

Just to show that the PS3 is well below the average failure rate for electronics. Ofcourse there are some faulty ones out there here and there, but is not due to design flaws. Also, just to show how much stress the PS3 can take, read this.

How to kill a PS3 Console - Is it really possible ? | PS3 Vault - Playstation 3 News Site PS3 Games

They put it in a very cold freezer for over 100 hours, and in a very hot sauna over 60+ hours all while running movies and games. They also put it in different environments, but all running games and movies for a rediculous amount of time. They could not just get the damn thing to break. So, they came to the conclusion that this is the only way to break it.

It takes much less time for my office to turn into a sauna when I am playing my PS3 for an extended period of time... it gets hot as all hell in that room, I tell you!

But it still works does it not?

360 gets hot, and commits suicide.

Yes, that is only if it is getting dangerously hot, and it is hard to get it to that point. But it is nice that the PS3 senses that and shuts off before any permenant dammage. 360 just lets itself melt.

I read that on another site.

They said that when the PS3 was in the freezer, the only problems caused (screen blackout) were due to the cables getting moist. Basically saying if they made waterproof cables, you could play in a freezer.

Doesn't hold up well against a sledgehammer though.

I'd say that depends on how well armed the gamer is.
