I didnt do much research into the 48,000 number except that it appears at the end of the video.
Not quite sure how someone gets those exact numbers... But I didnt see any follow-up comments objecting the claims.
United States Crime Rates 1960 - 2005
Combined murders in the U.S. from 9/11 to current would be around 85,000. So around half would be from illegals? That seems pretty high.
Good thing im not a journalist, I would of been fired quicker then Dan Rather.

Plus, if we want to get into more statistics, 2,420,000 Americans die a year.
Now we take that 48,000 supposedly caused by these infidels and do some simple math, we can conclude that an entire 1% die from illegal immigrant caused crimes. Ouch.

Not that it matters, because how many people die, and how many people are murdered is a completely different thing.
That's like saying 2 million people die from cancer a year, but I eat oranges every Thursday. It just doesn't matter. The fact is that it's 48,000 preventable deaths, which is half the total murders.

So... people who are murdered don't die? Now that's something new to me...
I'm taking one sector (immigrant murders) of a population (people dying) and drawing a conclusion as to the ratio of one within the other.
My point (not that I'm very fond of statistics) is that there are many other things that Americans are dying from than immigrant murders.

Many of those deaths occur from choice. People don't choose to be murdered, now do they. Big difference between death and murder. If you wanted to compare something then compare murders to murders, not murders to deaths. It's an entirely different thing.

Swiss, you cannot compare the number of American deaths each year to those that are murdered. As Bob said, it is totally different.
To say that without illegals Americans would just fill in the gaps is very ignorant and a bad assumption.
We're only on the second page and a lot of hatred for America is sprouting. Pathetic.

Your point is off topic. If you really think that we (everyone in this thread) didn't know that Americans die in other ways aside from being murdered by illegal immigrants, then I don't know where to begin. (I do, but I'd rather not be suspended again.)
As the two people following my post said, you aren't listening at all. You didn't like the video, okay. It's a minor piece of the pie, okay. That doesn't change the fact that we're talking about 48,000 preventable deaths.

I would like to point out that it was SINCE 9/11 48,000 people have been murdered by illegal immigrants.
Since 2001 9/11
469,000 total murders through 2005
I'm going to "guess" around 92,000 people are murdered every year because thats around the average... and we are half way through 2007
So an additional 138,000 murders
607,000 total murders since 2001 9/11
48,000/607,000 = 0.079
7.9% of murders are from illegal immies... even though thats 7.9% too much, its still a smaller number than to say half the murders since 9/11 have been from illegal immies.

Not to beat a dead horse, but I guess I'll repeat myself but in a different manner for the sake of clarifying and understanding:
Murders = Death.
You can't murder someone and have them be alive, right? (Yes, I realize I'm stating an obvious)
But using the same logic, those who have been murdered are just one of the many ways a person dies. Others can die due to old age, others can be due to too much sex, others can be due to smoking, others caused by negligent healthcare... etc.
So as far as I understand, one can accurately say that there's only a small percentage of people who have died from immigrant murders in comparison with all the other ways people die. Murder is indeed included in that all-encompassing number of 2,420,000 American deaths per year, isn't it?
I would like to agree with you, bob, and say that everyone (here in this thread) knows that Americans die in other ways than being murdered by illegal immigrants, but I don't see how you and Scuba can say that murder isn't a part of the death statistic. They aren't totally different, but rather one in the same. And if you don't know how to reply like a coherent human being without getting yourself suspended, don't bother. This isn't meant to be an argument nor an attack. Believe it or not, I'd prefer having you around...
And Scuba, I don't get it where you say "hatred for America is sprouting"... where do you get that from? I don't contrive anything anyone has posted thus far as being hateful towards America. In fact, it's for the love of this country that I feel free to discuss the rights and wrongs of our country. Having a difference of opinion or even straight-up criticizing is far from hateful.
Maybe it's all a difference of opinion and we're arguing the same thing... it's nothing to get up in arms about. Emotion is the true enemy of justice. Keep it civil, please.
